Chapter One- Charlottetown Canada

It was March 14th, 2013. Gavin Woods lugged the drenched and unconscious Ramona Sharpe out of the river after finding them. Gavin started Cpr right away.

“Come on,” Gavin told Ramona although he knew she wouldn’t respond. Gavin continues chest compressions and mouth-to-mouth.

“Come on!” Gavin yelled. After continuing CPR, Ramona opens their eyes and coughs up all the water they inhaled. Ramona looks at Gavin and smiles.

“Hey,” Ramona said quietly, still being really weak. “You didn’t kiss me did you?”.

“It was either that or die,” Gavin told them.

Ramona smiled at the familiar face before passing out again.

“Looks like I’m gonna be carrying you,” Gavin said, sighing.

Although Gavin struggled to get the soaking-wet Ramona to his mother's car that he borrowed in the midst of the chaos, they did it. In no time, Ramona was still unconscious, but this time in the bed in Gavin’s shop. Gavin watched over Ramona to make sure she wouldn’t die.

Charlottetown was still in a panic, no one knows what’s going on and the magic council is trying to find Angelica while trying to recover from her attack. The sound of horror still echoed throughout the streets. The only person who knows what happened to Angelica is April Bradbury and she was no longer a reliable source.

Gavin’s phone was blowing up with phone calls and text messages but Gavin was too busy to answer. Finally, they got a call from their mother.

“Gavin Woods, why haven’t you been answering my calls?” His mother asked.

“What calls?” Gavin asked, “This was the first call I got from you, the service must be bad”.

“Where are you?” She asked Gavin.

“The shop,” Gavin replied.

“Are you safe? Come home Gavin,” His mother told him.

“I’m fine mom,” Gavin told their mother, “Just focus on everyone else first, I promise you I’m ok,”.

“Gavin,” Their mother replied.

“Bye,” Gavin told their mother before hanging up on her.

Although Gavin knew that his family was worried about him, he also knew he’d have a few visitors sooner rather than later. But they couldn’t afford to think about that while Ramona’s on the brink of death.

Gavin walked to the back of the shop, grabbed a chair, and sat in front of Ramona’s bed. They gently touched Ramona’s forehead to make sure they weren't contracting a fever.

“I know I should take you to the hospital but it would be too hard to explain,” Gavin told Ramona. “Where’s April? When I got to the river she wasn’t there, and she can’t be dead”.

“And if she is, and I couldn’t do anything to save her then….” Gavin started to say, tearing up a bit. “Then I am so sorry. So sorry”.

Gavin’s phone when off quite a few times. Gavin wiped his face and went back to their front counter. They opened their phone to see three notifications...

From April Bradbury herself.

“Don’t worry Gavin, I’m alive,” The text message read.

“What?” Gavin asked aloud as he continued to read.

“I’m safe, and with a personal friend of yours,” The next one said, “Angelica Kraft”.
