Luna POV:
Takes place in 4th year at Hogwarts
“Luna, time to go!” Father yelled from downstairs.
“Coming!” I yelled as I grabbed my suitcase (Shoes secured, so nargles can’t get to them) and headed downstairs. We used flu powder to transport to Daigon alley. As soon as we arrived, I went to looking for Ginny and Hermione. We had been writing letters, the three of us, and decided to meet in front of Olivander’s.
“Now, where could they-”
" Luna!” I was interrupted by Ginny, who engulfed me in a bone-crushing hug.
“Ginny. Can’t. Breathe!” I managed to get out (quite honestly, I didn’t understand how I managed to stay conscious).
“Oh, sorry.” Ginny said sheepishly as she let go.
“It’s alright. Where’s Hermione?” I asked. Ginny smiled.
“Where do you think?” She stated, answering my question. I thought for a moment. The bookstore! If you ever needed Hermione all you had to do was find one of those worldly Stores and she would be there.
“Let’s go, then.” I said as I walked in the direction of the bookstore. The second we walked in, it smelled odd, like old books and licorice candy.
“No, no, no, no, no! It’s called ‘encycl-O-pedia’, not ‘En-cycle-pedia’! Honestly, how do you ever expect to become a great wizard without proper vocabulary?” Said a girl in a very annoyed voice. Ginny and I exchanged knowing looks, and sure enough, behind a tower of books, was Hermione Granger scolding Ron Weasley.
“What good is “vocabulary” when you have a wand? And great hair I might add.” Ron said, fondly touching his hair. Ginny rolled her eyes. Just then we heard a light chuckle.
"Well, you have to be able to pronounce spells, and I wouldn't bet my life on that hair!" Said a boy's voice. We all laughed; Harry never disappoints in the humor category.
"Yes Ron, your hair is very... Well, I don't want to say ugly, but it is quite unattractive." I said, honestly. They all laughed. I didn't quite understand why, I was just stating a fact. But I laughed with them, for laughter is contagious. Hermione stopped laughing and had a look of great disgust on her face.
"Speaking of unattractive." She said, pointing at the door. We all looked at the door and our smiles turned to frowns. Standing in the doorway, was Draco Malfoy. Now after some events Draco and the rest of us sort of became friends, though, he could still be rotten. And I wouldn't exactly call him unattractive, he was, in fact very good looking. And very tall for that matter.
"Oh, come now, you can't tell me you're not happy to see me?" Draco said, with a cocky grin. Everyone relaxed their faces a bit and smiled. Draco's cockiness would never get old. Ron got this boyish grin on his face, and I swear Hermione blushed.
"Well, I'd be happier to see a couple chocolate frogs, but I guess we can at least pretend to be happy that your here." Ron said. Everyone started cracking up again.
"Well, I know someone's happy to see me, aren't you, ladies?" Draco said, flashing a smile to us. Harry clenched his fists and Ron clenched his teeth. Draco saw this and smirked. He knew he had got to them. Draco stayed, making clever remarks every now and then. Eventually, he decided to go see his girlfriend, (Shudder) Pansy Parkingson.
"Well, I better get going!" Draco said, heading towards the door.
"Gentlemen, Girls," he stopped at me and winked, "Lovegood." Then he left. I felt heat rising on my cheeks. Though, I didn't think much of it, that was the natural reaction to embarrassment or flattery. At least, that's what I thought. The next day, I got on the train at platform 9 3/4. I was looking for somewhere to sit when, I spotted Ginny, Hemione, Ron, Draco, and Harry. Ginny saw me and waved me over.
"Luna! Come sit, I'm sure there's enough room." Ginny said patting the seat next to her. I looked around everyone was smiling at me, even Draco.
"I'm afraid I'll have to decline." I said, politely. Ginny's face fell.
"I'm sitting with Neville." I added, blushing a bit. Ginny perked up again.
"How is that going, by the way?" Ginny smirked.
"Ginny!" I said, my face turning an even darker shade of red. Everyone laughed. Everyone, except for Draco, I noticed.
"Have yourself a boyfriend, have you? I knew you were into losers, but Longbottom? That's like having no standards at all!" Draco spoke, distaste dripping in his voice. I felt my face heat up again, this time from anger.
"I'll have you know Neville, is very smart. He's funny and kind, and oh! Why do you care?" I said, clenching my fists.
"I'm just looking out for a friend. We don't want you to end up with that plant-loving Pratt, now do we?" Draco said, giving me the most fake innocent smile he could muster.
"He. Is. Not. A. Pratt." I said, teeth clenched. Then I walked out and slammed the door. I felt better once I spotted Neville sitting in a booth across from me. He saw me and smiled, making my heart flutter. He motioned for me to sit down. I had a great time with Neville. Unfortunately, Draco and I had a clear view of each other from where I was sitting. He glared at me the whole time, and I glared back. Pansy Parkingson then went and sat down next to him. He wrapped his arm around her and looked at me with a triumphant look in his eyes.
Ugh! Why did he have to be so hot-headed?!
