Baby Morgan
It was gloomy blues for baby Morgan
When his mom broke the news, that his best friend Fred.
Who slept in his bed, when awoke in the morning was found dead.
To relieve his distress, after they cleaned all the mess
to the shelter they left, once they were all dressed
They pick a new dog who was fluffy and small.
Who quickly came running everytime that they called.
When they got home, the Morgans, well they were more than appalled
When the tiny dog bolted and they chased down the hall.
And back to the shelter they returned the poor dog.
Because the house is a rental and he chewed through the walls.
Up next was a pug that was more of a mutt
Well, his habit brought discomfort, with his nose in your butt.
Don't test out your luck if you lean for a hug
You'll get wet sloppy kisses from this slobbering pug.
Well the Morgans were not use to such affection
And preferred a large dog, that was more for protection.
The next day came Doug,
a mastiff who was big and looked tough
And the Morgans were grateful
He didn't look like a bug.
Doug was a barker
Also mean and a bit rough
And patience grew thin
From all the holes that he dug
Defeated they retreated
Well They've had more than enough
When they saw Freds face peeking from a whole which Doug dug.
Baby Morgans eyes softened then filled with his tears
He cried for his best friend, his pal he loved dear.
Fred didn't chew, slobber kiss or sniff butt to butt
He didn't growl or snap at small babies when they reached for a hug.
When morning came he awoke to a scream.
When he saw his mom running from what she had seen.
It was fred on his bed and yes he's still dead
His best friend was loyal, right up to the end.
