Summary

"You are part of us." "Us?" "Me. You are part of me." The world as we know it is a little too small to contain the mortals and let us live amongst them. That is why we are carted away at birth, like little flowers growing in a nursery and sent off to a hospital. Hospital of the immortals. There, every one of supernatural lives, but occasionally, there are a few who are too powerful, or too powerless. It is called a hospital like we are being treated, but in actuality, we are being secluded. The humans...they know about us. They know what we are capable of. But they often say...a known enemy is better than a hidden angel. I belong to the powerless....or so I let them believe. And when I was introduced to the only other powerless person, I knew, that he was just like me. The hidden angels humans knew nothing of. Did I say angels?

Prologue; Try Me

I took a deep breath as I lay in bed, my eyes closing, my mind reeling. I was going to walk into his dreams. There is no better way to find out who he really is, and what he is. I know, like me that he isn't powerless.

I slowly closed my eyes, and I felt my body fall into a kind of fluid state. Slowly, I saw myself standing, my fists clenched as I looked around.

The place, was empty, just vast smoke clouding around me, my feet almost invisible in the fog. My brows furrowed and I looked around, then took a few small, unsure steps forward, before I suddenly stopped.

His dream is blank and blank dreams are...

I slowly came to a stop, my heart thumping at what I knew I was going to see. My heart felt like it was going to fall through to my feet as I slowly turned.

Before I could fully turn however, I felt a strong, impossibly strong hand clasp around my neck, and with inhuman speed, pushed me backwards. I felt the wind hard on my face as my body felt almost weightless, before I suddenly hit a barrier, my breath almost leaving me.

Klaus's face came into full view, a wide grin that thinned his pitch black eyes spreading his lips.

"What are you doing in my dreams?"

I opened my lips to gasp, my chest heaving painfully, as my hands tapped on his arm. I felt my eyes moisten up, my vision blurring.

He laughed, his voice echoing off around his dream, and I struggled to focus on his eyes.

"Please...please let me wake. Please Klaus. Please let me wake."

He laughed again, his fingers tightening around my neck before he suddenly flung me across, and I felt my body drift away with the fog.

I woke up with a start, my chest heaving, the feel of his grip on my neck still very intact. I swept my eyes across to his bed in the ward we shared, and he was still very much asleep.

He could...still stay asleep?

I walked carefully, making sure to avoid Klaus as we made our way to collect food. I sat in the far end, my eyes focused on the sectioned steel plate. Before I knew it, however, I felt my eyes lifting slowly, to meet a pair of black eyes on the other far end of the wall. Almost like he had compelled me to look up.

"If I ever see you in my dream again, I will kill you and bury you in it and no one will have an inkling of it."

I swallowed, fear getting to me, as I felt his voice resonate in my mind. I bit down hard on my lips.

"Have you forgotten where we are? It's a hospital for the immortals." I said, trying not tobshow him how scared I was.

I saw his wicked grin from across the large hall, filled with people, but it felt like he was right in front of me, his sharp canines reflecting the full single bulb in the large room.

His voice slowly came back to my mind again, and I saw him give a slight nod. "Try me."
