Lara POV

Looking out the dark window that has dark blue curtains pulled to the side onto the cabin wall. Looking pass, the window, I see the snow that rages pass the window with the bitter howl of the wind. I know how hard the cold can bite, I know what it can do to the skin, The insides and the life in their eyes. It changes you. Permanently. I continue to sit in the single cushioned chair with a cup of hot cocoa, sipping occasionally while looking around the everyday room, waiting for the signal. There is a brown stone fireplace next to my chair with a dark brown coffee table In Front of me. I continue to glance around the room until my eyes land the Velvet Blue book that started all of this. I feel the numb course through me as memories of the last 6 months sore through my head like a bird flying through a thunderstorm. Memories I will never forget.

-Flash Back-

“Where are we?" I look around, seeing Oak wood as the walls and flooring. A red rug under a circle table with chairs. An illuminated lantern. A fireplace to the side in the living room nearest to the couch. A door leading to I assume a kitchen. I watch him walk to a shelf by the circle table, pulling out a velvet blue book with a scripture on it. I watch him as he places it on the table and opens it. Walking over to him I ask again "Where are we?" I look up at Nicholas, confused on why he has brought me to his house and not some slave holding that I imagined. My thought process is cut off as I hear him speak. "My house. Your training begins now." He states as he places the book onto the table before opening the book. “You will learn to fight, Defend, Kill, and Assassinate” I look at him with wide eyes “Why?” I see him look down at me before Moving pages of the book almost in a fluid motion as he knows exactly which page to go to, as if he just read it and memorized it. A nervous feeling appears in my stomach, slowly creeping and crawling its way into the back of my throat “I know what he did. He isn’t done and we need to prepare.” I nod my head as I look back at the book, noticing the ancient text on the pages “I can’t understand this, how will I learn?” I hear him chuckle “I will teach you, this language is known as Eterics Language. Long forgotten and only used In the forgotten society.” I snapped my head to him “The forgotten’s, do they exist?” I feel a shock course through me as I continue to stare at him “How is that possible?” He walks back to the shelf and pulls another book, flipping through pages, before setting it on the table. I look at the 2nd book placed down by Nicholas. Signatures, all in cursive “Signatures?” I ask to verify “Yes, these are the names of the people who started the Forgotten Society. These are the people who some have given their lives for this world. While others remain alive and hidden but always watching. We need you. Your brother has become our enemy and he plans to do far worse than what he has done to you, but he has a plan and we need to stop it.” I look at him “Isn’t the counsel against the Forgotten Society?” He nods “Then why doesn’t the counsel do something about him?” I ask “They don’t care, they say they will do something, but I have been a part of the meetings and interviews and what they say to the public is very different from the private. They say there is nothing happening and that they have already taken care of it but they haven’t. It has gotten worse and it won’t end until we end it. To end it, we must end him.” Fear, Shock, Realization all hit at once as I stand there looking down at the books. “You’re telling me, we have to kill him?” I ask before hearing something far, much greater “Him and his followers.” I snapped back to him “They are innocent people, They could be forced to follow him. Why kill them, We. Can’t. Kill. Innocents. Never!” I yell before Hearing him slam his hands on the table “They aren’t innocent if they do the same actions as Him. Do you understand? If this continues, what will our world look like? What will become of us? Not just the Forgotten’s but as well as for the rest of mankind. All kinds. What then?”

I stop and stand there, He is right. If we let him continue, Life as we know it. Will be over. I don’t know if I can kill my own brother. Yes, I hate him for what he has done to me but the memories of the past, during the good still live. Will they die with him? Or will I live a life of regret? “Look I understand but this has to be done, think of the people that you love. I know you love those mates of yours. I know you belong to them but if you let Jacob live, all will die, including them.” Flashes of their death course through my head at a high speed before staring back at the book “What do I need to do?” I see him nod “You ne-”

-Flash Back-

I see a light flicker in the forest 5 times before getting up from the comfy chair. Walking to the kitchen and setting my cup into the sink before walking into my room. Opening the closet door I strip from my clothes. Grabbing a hold of a long sleeve black shirt and black tights of the hangers. Picking up black combat boots and my prep bag from the floor I walk out of the closet getting everything on. I then walked down the hall, passing the living room. Tossing my prep bag next to my chair as I head to the training room, opening the door I see the shelves and hooks. Grabbing the waist holder off the shelf and attaching it around my waist. I walk to the hooks before grabbing my favorite gun that I personally named “Kicker” Placing my prized possession on its holster, I than grab my set of knives.

Two of them being 5’in blades, one being a carving knife, and six others being throwing knives. I place them each in their designated areas as I head back to the living room. Getting into the living room I pick up my prep bag and head towards the door.

Opening the door, I feel the brutal touch of the cold whipping wind kiss my skin as I step out the door. Leaving the warmth of the cabin, I let the darkness surround me. The only light existing is the cold empty promise of warmth from the moon above. I step into the snow hearing the light crunch as I sling on my prep bag onto my back, before taking off into a full sprint, as I run I feel stinging warmth spread throughout my legs and chest as I run at full speed pass bare trees. I continue to run as I hear a series of slow and fast knocks echo throughout the forest causing a spine-chilling sensation to spread throughout my body. The air is flooded in an eerily feeling of dread. Though I know what the knocks mean, I was trained for this. I start to focus a bit more as the pattern repeats once more.

“..--- ..--- .---- .---- .-- . … - … .. -.. . .---- ----- ….. .- -- -.-. --- -.. . --- -.-. - --- -… . .-.”

I listen intently as I mentally decipher the knocks. Putting everything together I get the message that was sent to me by an anonymous ally ‘2211 west side 105am code o c t o b e r’. I feel eyes on me from the left. Nodding that I understood, I continued to run towards my location. 2211 Westside. As I run, I hear cracks in the night. Ones I do not recognize as our own. I look into the corner of my eyes and see piercing green eyes. A gasp wants to leave my throat as memories of them flood my mind. I feel a sensation I haven’t felt in 6 months, the tearing sensation within my soul. One of heartbreak and loneliness. As I remember their faces, I also remember the way I got to them. Him. He must die for me to move forward. I shut my emotions down once more as I sprint turning North to lose my follower. Who are you? Why do you follow? Are you with Him? Many questions face through my mind as I race past bare trees and bushes, I slowly loss the follower as I zig zag through trees. As I continue to run my satisfaction is short lived as I feel this stranger’s presence close in faster than I expected. I push myself harder as the feeling of dread wraps me in its grasp. I need to move away now. As I am running, I feel their hand reach out to grab me. Just as I feel the warmth above my right shoulder, I duck down twisting my body as I swing my leg out to knock my opponent from under their feet. I refuse to be taken. Not just yet. I need this. As I see the stranger lose balance, I push myself up launching myself towards them, readying my fist as I land a hard punch into their face. Hearing the broken groans, I know that voice anywhere. Pain. Sorrow. Emptiness, and longing as course through my heart but before I can think further, I kick off from them before launching myself back into a full sprint.

Faster than I have pushed myself before. I feel the burn, the screams in my muscles. The ache of my body wanting to shut down and give in. I can’t. I continue to run even though I hear the gaining footsteps of my follower catching up once again. I see a cliff, a gap between 2 lands more like. Running towards it I feel the curve of the earth before launching myself towards the other side. Feeling the earth leave my feet and the chilly air surrounds me. I notice my shadow touches the ground as the moon illuminates my entire body. Revealing who I may be to the bare eyes of watchers, if there may be more. I feel the wind whip through my body. My hair is waving into the wind. A flying sensation flows through me as I feel peace. No, not peace. Weightless. Someone like me does not simply obtain the luxury of peace. This moment is short lived as my body crashes into the dirt of the other side, barely making it over the edge. Laying down I feel the cool grass tickle my cheeks as my hair covers my face. Slowly getting up, I turn to face my follower slowly lifting my head. I look up into his eyes only to feel a punch in the gut.

Those eyes. Those are the eyes that once promised me love and peace before being taken. “My Love” I hear Clarke say “My Love, Come home. Please. I know it’s you Lara.” I feel myself tremble. They were never supposed to find me. Never supposed to see me. Not until this is over. I feel my heart ache as memories flash throughout my head. Emotions go haywire in my body as a tear travels down my face. “I’ll find you.” What? But you’re here, how would you find me “You’re here, though.” I state only to see him shake his head. What is going on? I take a step forward until I hear our ally howling. Looking back, I hear Clarke yell “We’re coming for you, please wait for us. We will save you” I open my mouth to speak only to feel hands on my shoulder. As if being pulled from under water, I feel as if water itself has covered my body in a slick chill. Nicholas is in front of me but how? Clarke was just here? “Lara, snap out of it” I shake my head clearing my mind “Wha- What happened?” I ask as my voice cracks “Ian said that you were running and after you jumped the cliff, you just stood there and paused. You would respond to anyone.

I was called over to get you.” I feel a tear leak down my cheeks for the first time since that day. “But I saw Clarke, he was right there.” I look behind Nicholas to where I thought Clarke was once standing “You were followed. Someone used a Blowgun on you. Whatever poison wasn’t as effective as it should have been, most likely due to your training.” He states. I look at him “But Clarke said he would find me; they would come get me” He nodded. “Loss-Spirit” He states only for me to gasp and nod, forcing myself to let go of emotion and only rely on logic. Loss-Spirit is a drug only used illegally in a supernatural realm. It is very rare and not many know of its existence. Whoever got their hands on it, must be against us? How though? Who? I look up to Nicholas, we may have a rat. I feel logic take over as my face becomes stoic. I turn and start to walk to the meeting grounds. It’s about 30 minutes away. I turn back to Nicholas “We have a meeting to attend, are you coming?”

I see him nod as he starts to walk with me. Not long after, we get walked upon an abandoned shack, walking in I enter a small wooden room that looks to be once a living room of sorts at one point in time. I sometimes wonder, why would someone leave? What caused them to leave this place? I continue to walk as I get to a set of staircases that head down into an underground level. Walking down, I feel the chilly air slowly turn into a cozy warmth. Slowly surrounding me into a warm hug as one would get from a mother during a winter day. My mothers face flashes through my memory as if triggered by the warmth itself. Taking a deep breath, I clear my head. Yes, I miss her but missing her will do me no good. I knock on the door before hearing a gruff “Who?” I shake my head “October” The door is ripped open by the man who once was blocking it. “My apologizes, please come in. We have awaited your arrival, all is set.” I nod before walking through with Nicholas.

I look around slightly, this place isn’t something new to me, just has a new air to it. I slowly walk behind the small standing crowd towards the gap of people, that split like the ocean on command, leading to the stand. Walking onto the stand I await till everyone’s attention is on me and me alone. “I see some new faces. Stand.” I announce. I see the unknowns stand before me, they may be new allies but until I see them, they are not to be trusted. This is their landing point. Their faith lies in my hands. Depending on their answers. They will either stay as friends or die as foe. “State your name, your number, your origin, and why you are here.” I speak with authority. One man, a tall red head stands “Nathan, 132862, Russia, to kill the men who brutally dismembered my family.” I nod as he sits. A woman, blond hair, blue eyes, small but can be useful. “Sabrina, 662239, Bulgaria, my town was violently slaughtered before my eyes. I am here to seek revenge and to stop it from happening again.” I hear her tone, it's breathy as if the wound is still fresh, most likely as I see her eyes slightly glisten.

I nod and she sits. A pale white man with black sheet hair and piercing blue eyes, tall but bulky. Handsome thou- “Bryan, 001146, America, I seek revenge” I see a glint in his eyes as his eye travel from my eyes to my hair from my hair to my right arm where I once was cut by a man and then back to my eyes. A small smirk forms on his face. So small it would take trained eyes to notice. Unlucky for him. I am trained. I nod but as he sits, I raise my hand. “Why revenge?” I ask in a monotone voice. He snaps up to look at me “A woman ran from my friend after almost killing him. I plan to stop her” I nod and look towards the other 3 people. A tall black man with a buzz cut and a scare that runs down the right side of his race. Traveling over his eye and to his jaw. Fucking mouth-watering sexiness drips off this man like the Sahara-desert. “Kian, 146321, River Forest, I am searching for someone” I nod. Next, a woman with black hair, green eyes, light brown skin “Kaylie, 244342, India, I need something to do with life.” I nod wanting to laugh. If I wasn’t so fucked up. I would say we would be great friends. Last, a Pale woman with black hair and blue eyes, “Ellie, 123559, England, I plan to take them down to the very last man.” I nod as everyone sits down.

I give everyone a breath as everyone does, I slightly open my mouth as I click my tongue. Some look at me in horror, some in shock and some with amusement. The newcomers mind their own business as they should. They will learn quickly. Two men push off the back wall silently before walking up the gap. My eyes connect with his eyes as he squirms. You. My eyes label you and you are now dead. The small crowd slowly one by one bows their heads looking towards the ground just as the two men reach for Bryan grabbing him by the arms and lift him. “Let go of me” he screams out annoyingly. I watch as he struggles and tries to break free. “Please, I beg of you. I didn’t want to please, don’t make me” He says and just as he does, his arm breaks free from one of the men before kicking one of his holders in the crotch. The guard drops down the ground holding his balls as his saliva paints the ground and breathy grunts escape his lips. I slowly start to walk off the stage and through the crowd. I am in charge. I own these grounds. I see as Bryan goes to punch the other man and just as he does. I catch his arm only to painfully twist it before slamming my arm into his elbow, hearing a sickening crack echo throughout the room, soon followed by a pained scream. I see him thrash in pain before breathing. Grabbing him by the jaw “Why did he send you?” I calmly ask. I see the fire in his eyes before he smirks “Isn’t it obvious? He wants his dog toy back” I feel a laugh bubble out of me before I slowly sign “You’re a true idiot. How much did he pay you?” I ask, “1 Grand, Why?” I smile, ignoring his question “How did you find us?” I see rage pass his eyes “Why did you ask me that, huh?” He yells before I start to pat him down.

“Ah, I see now” I feel a bulge in his back pocket. Slipping my hand inside I wrap my hands around the weapon before pulling out the Blowgun. “You were the one who shot me with the poison.” His eyes widened. “You bitch, you cock sucking whore. Let me go or so help your pathetic goddess, I will show you a true nightmare.” I sign annoyingly “Take him to the shed, I deal will him later” I start to walk back to the stage “

They should have killed you with those low-lifes you called parents.” I stop before turning my head. Rage dances and sings in my soul as I turn around. '`How do you know about that?” he smirks. “Hit a nerve there? Princess.” Rage dances in my eyes as I slowly walk back towards him “Speak or feel pain like never before.” He chuckles “You. Pain? Spare me the jokes.” I walk to the stage. “Lock him up in the under shed” The man holding him turns white. I smile “Cage Cuffs, don’t let him escape or you will take his place.” I state before watching him cuff Bryans ankles with a chain that tightly leads to his neck. Before also forcing his arms into metal tube cuffs tightly connected to his neck and ankles. Grabbing his hair and dragging him out I hear the grunts as Bryan hits each stair on the way up. After I hear the door shut, I look at the crowd “Rise” They all raise their heads. “We all know why we are here. We all want something. Revenge. From what our sources last gathered. Jacob has created an army of men. They pillage towns and villages while gaining land and space.”

I see some shake in rage “Our sources state that he is 4 days’ time from us and that is too close for us. We need to go to Livion. We will train and gain more members, but we are not ready for war. Almost but not yet.” I state before Seeing one of my most loyal members stand and yell in complete anguish, Joseph. “Why can’t we just kill him. Why can’t we end this? He has killed my wife and child for goddness sake!” He screams as he shakes. His fist balled as he stood rigid. “Tell me, what do you think will happen if we kill him without finding out who is loyal to him and who has been forced. Tell me.” I state only to see him shot his gaze to me “I- I don’t know.” I nod “You don’t know because you are moving forward with emotion. Push it aside and let logic move with you.” I state to him before looking at the crowd “Lesson 1. Moving with emotion will only get you killed. Moving with logic will not only help you survive but will help you figure out your opponents next move.” I see Joseph nod and sit down wiping his tears away “I apologize, October.” I nod his way before continuing. “Lesson 2. If you cannot see, Hear, See or Breathe you are good as dead. Lesson 3. the three’s, 3 minutes without any oxygen, 3 days without a source of water, and 3 weeks without any food. Without any of this. You will die.” I nod “Lesson 4. To survive, sometimes you must Beg, Cheat and Steal. In this case sometimes even kill but never show your face or your identity.” I nod “Lesson 5. Kill or be killed, you will have to fight in the upcoming battle. Yes, there will be one cause no matter how you approach the situation, someone will retaliate.” I nod “That is the end of the lesson. Now again they are close to us by 4 days’ time. We will be leaving to Livion in 2 days’ time starting today, if anyone has any objections. Speak.” No one objects as everyone agrees. We have had these conversations before though, I prefer to do refreshers to those who think they can step out of line. Plus, it lets me see if we have new faces, Oddly new faces. “Thank You now I am off to take care of business.” I state before I walk off the stage of the small room. Towards the door. Now that I have had some type of work, It's time to play. I think as a sadistic grin appears on my face.
