"*******Chapters 1-3: I just started reading the first three chapters, and I absolutely love this so far! This is definitely going on my reading list. The writing is very professional and clean. I only ran into a few errors here and there. I absolutely love the way that you're building your characters. There's a great deal of showing rather than telling. The dialogue is really good, but I love your inner dialogue too. Usually it's hard to get into the heads of characters when you're using third person, but you do it very naturally. I am not sure where the story is going so far, but I can't wait to find out! I'm curious as to why Marcus is hiding in the Doctor's office. It was very interesting listening to his rather unstable-sounding thoughts. I also really enjoyed the scene with the Doctor. He seems like an interesting character, and I think that the whole talking to himself thing is a neat touch. I hope that he can help poor Molly. :-) All in all, this is an amazing start, and I definitely think I will continue with this. I hope this does super well in the contest, because this deserves lots of readers. Magnificent work! ***********Chapters 4-7: I just took a look at these chapters, and I'm loving them just as much as the others. I love the way that you're taking your time in building the story and the characters. It always leaves me wanting more. I did into some typos in here, and, in chapters four and five, there were a few areas where I got a little confused. I kept getting mixed up as to who was who, with Sam and Scotty. Other than that, I didn't have any trouble. Holly's situation makes me really sad, but I found the doctor's observations very interesting to ponder. I can't wait to see what happens next!"
What a thriller!
"This book is a must read for all thriller fans. It takes you from crime scene to interrogation room, from lunatic minds to Dr Reichman's the Psychologists office. I particularly loved the love threads that emerged later in the book. The language and style is easy flowing, making the reader the more eager to consume this story in one seating!"
A Good Read!
"Let me say first that even though I may express some dissatisfaction, I would definitely open another book by this author and give it a chance. (In fact, even as I write I’ve taken a detour and done this.) My comments are based on a fast but complete reading of the novel. I am very quick to drop a book that I don’t like—there are lots of good books and I won’t waste my time on a bad one--and I did not drop this one. (1) Unlike some of the Inkitt writers I’ve attempted to read, this author clearly understands the need to write clearly and to punctuate. I did find a typo. (It happens!) But I did not have to slog through lazy writing or bad grammar. I discovered Inkitt only recently. I've opened several books since then and this is the only one I can say this about. Maybe I've been unlucky, but the ones I’ve started (and quit) so far have been plagued by extraordinarily mangled sentence structure, inconsistent tense, and in some cases a lack of punctuation and capitalization. This was a refreshing exception. (2) The plot was intriguing and drew me in. It was suspenseful and kept me reading on. (3) The structure of the novel supported the plot and in that regard was good. However, early on I almost dropped the book because I couldn’t clearly discern a protagonist. At the time I attributed this to poor character development. (I don’t want lazy writers, but when I read to escape I’m sometimes a lazy reader.) However, that's note really the problem. Without spoiling the book for you, all I can say is that the structure is critical to the plot and character. If you have the same problem when you read, I suggest you read a bit further. You will soon find you can't stop reading. (4) Sub- and concurrent plots did drag on a bit. I would have liked some of these developed a little more effectively. (5) On that same note, I found some of the dialogue dull. Of course, dialogue is difficult and the question is how much to mirror real dialog and when to cut it short. This happens more later in the book. As far as my rating, I cannot as did others give this a five. Hey, that’s for the best of the best! But I would give everything else I’ve looked at a zero or a one, so go by that for comparison."
