Chapter 1
At this time as the head of this mine, I never expected to see such a sight in the so frequented tunnels.
So when one of my men came to me with his team's disturbing findings, I couldn't honestly believe the events that followed.
And I most certainly couldn't predict what happened next.

Brian Smith, a short, but with a strong build, brown hair and eyes on his late thirties, wearing a mining suit, and one of the teams assigned leader, came to me one morning with am expression of absolute disbelief on his face.
"Brian, what brings you here to my office? We barely started with the operations, have you already found something?" I questioned.
And the weirdest words came out of his mouth.
"We found a hidden door, on the second floor.
After a few seconds of just starring at him with my eyes wide, I finally asked, "You what?" in confusion.
"Sir, come and see for yourself. It's the only way for you to believe me."
With those words, he went to the door and waited for me to get up. So I got up from my chair and followed him to the elevator that'll take us to this mysterious door.

Have you tried opening this?" I asked the men there.
"No, sir, we wanted to get your permission first." Jason King, a fifty years old man with a bald head and green eyes, average size and build with the same mining suit, said.
"Well what are you waiting for? Open it!" I was curious about this hidden room and wanted to see what was inside it.
Bruce Dwayne, the oldest of the group as a sixty years old, with the greenest eyes and brown -peppered with white- shoulder length hair peaking out of his hat, tried the rusted goldhandle on the door, which I just noticed -even through the dust and dirt- was a deep red colour.
Surprisingly enough, the handle turned and the door opened. I strange foreboding feeling raised inside of me and I couldn't understand why.
Then the smell entered my nostrils. Absolutely putrid, the metallic scent of blood made every one of us take a step back in shock and horror.
Tyler Brooke, the youngest of the bunch, just out of high school, with short blonde hair and blue eyes, couldn't handle the smell and ran to the nearest restroom.
I was thankfull for that a few minutes later.

When we got over -or as much as we could - fo the smell, we opened the door fully.
I couldn't believe the sight in front of my eyes. Blood every where, on the walls the floor even the ceiling. A table filled with vials and books stood it the corner right from the door and a meat hanger on the opposite wall, where... human arms and legs were hanging. Another table was in the middle of the room, inside a circle , the only place where the wasn't any blood, with weird symbols carved to the floor underneath it.
"What the..." Bruce's shocked voice filled the quiet that bestowed upon us. "I can't believe the stories were true... I always thought..."
I didn't have time to ask him about what he was talking about because I noticed something that I honestly couldn't believe I didn't before."It's fresh..." I whispered, quiet enough that it was hard for my men to hear me.
"...Boss...?" Brian hesitated a little before touching my shoulder.
"The blood... It's fresh." I repeated, louder this time.
"Shit!" Jason exclaimed. "We need to call the police! Like right now!"
Just as he said these words the power shut down and the door closed with an loud bang.
I pulled out the flashlight on my belt and tried to turn it on, but it didn't work. From the looks of it, the others couldn't either.
Just then a scream echoed all around us. Then another and another one, until hundreds of voices where screaming in different languages.
I didn't know what was happening and neither did the people surrounding me.
Then everything went quiet, just as suddenly as it all began, but the lights nor the flashlights turned on.
"Shitshitshitshit..." I heard Bruce's voice to my left. Hearing him speak reminded me of what he said before.
"Bruce... When you said the stories were true... What did you mean? What stories?" I questioned.
"..."He took a deep breath and then started explaining, "Couple of the guys that used to work here mentioned that their parents had a story about this place." another deep breath, "that a cult used to do their rituals here in the '50s, when suddenly they disappeared, no traces left to find, just gone! There were rumours about... How they made a deal with... something and that deal went wrong, that's why noone could find them." he sighed," never believed those stories... Until now."
"Y-You really think these are true?" Brian asked, a little in disbelief dispite everything that happened these past few minutes.
A familiar voice interrupted whatever was about to come out of Bruce's mouth in retaliation. Tyler, I had completely forgotten about him!
"Hey guys!" He sounded oodly cheery in contrast to our fear and shock. Again that feeling rose from the depths of my subconscious and I couldn't help but that something was amiss with the kid.
"Tyler?!" Jason exclaimed, "you scared the Hell out me man! Where were you?!"
"Oh, you know, here and there." There was something in his voice that rubbed me the wrong way.
Hiss.
Someone was behind me.
Hiss.
Or something.
It touched my leg.
Chuckle.
I heard Tyler cackling madly.
The lights turned on. I was alone with only Tyler right before my face. The thing touching my leg wrapped around my body like a python and covered my mouth before I had the chance to open it.
A smile stretched across his features. His expression reminded me of the first time we met, oddly enough. Bruce's words came to my mind after he met the kid.
'You sure you want to hire someone like him? I think you're going to regret it'
And then...
"SO... BOSS... DID YOU?"

Even after a year of searching, the police still hasn't been able to understand what exactly has happened at the mine right outside of the city. Investigations have been conducted with negative results and the only survivor of the so called "Mining Incident" has not come forward for a interview. The police are doi-

'Can't believe their still talking about it.'

A smile stretched upon the young face looking at the closed TV.
"I SHOULD HAVE DONE A BETTER JOB."
