Chapter 1
The blade’s edge
Morwenna Parker looked at the sharp blade in her hands and felt sad. She walked over to the window and reflected on her cold surroundings. She had always loved dark, cave town, with its diligent graves. It was a place that encouraged her tendency to feel sad.
Then she saw something in the distance, or rather someone. It was the figure of Steven Wu. Steven was a spiteful monster with beautiful eyes and brittle fingers.
Morwenna gulped. She glanced at her reflection. She was a brave, greedy, whiskey drinker with thick thighs and thin patience . Her friends saw her as a defeated, sad, pathetic devil. Once, she had even brought a saint home back from the brink of death.
But not even a brave person who had once brought a saint home back from the brink of death was prepared for what Steven had in-store today.
The clouds danced like a dying snake, making Morwenna afraid.
As Morwenna stepped outside and Steven came closer, she could see the tender glint in his eye.
“I am here because I want revenge,” Steven bellowed, in a bold tone. He slammed his fist against Morwenna’s chest,“I fucking love you, but this has to happen,”
Morwenna looked back, even more, afraid and still fingering the sharp blade. “Steven, what a petty little dog,” she replied. They looked at each other with mad feelings, like two mutated, mighty mice shouting at a very bold funeral, which had rock music playing in the background.
Morwenna studied Steven’s beautiful thighs and brittle frame. Eventually, she took a deep breath. “I’m sorry,” she explained, in a pitying tone.
Steven looked angry, his body raw like the edge of her knife. She looked around then charged at him, knife in hand she went to swing, miss she swung again miss, then the final blow. He was dead. He was bleeding out now.
