Chapter 1
It was 15th of July. The room was cluttered, and the floor was covered with human and dog hair. Sakshi, Abhi's sister entered the room yelling at him. Scooby their dog followed her.
Looking at the mess Abhi had created she burst at him, while Abhi was still asleep in his bed. Abhi is studying in the 12tg grade, and Sakshi has been working at MH Investmenta for three months. Both Abhi and Sakshi lost their mother to COVID in last December. They live with their 52 year old father who also works in a bank. Abhi has rather become introverted since the time he lost his mother.
His mother always supported his dream of becoming a writer. Abhi has won multiple prizes in story writing and poetry. But the family rather wanted him to become an engineer. He lost the fight with the family and opted for science. He was at the end of academic year and his exams were soon going to start. Now, this isn't a new thing in India. In India, it's more important for children to fulfill the family's expectations than to realise their dreams. He had come in terms with his fate and studied science.
The chemistry class taught him patience more than teaching him how to analyse the salts in the apparatus. The bio gave him a fair share of knowledge about the principles of inheritance and variation. It was then he understood how the art of writing was passed onto him by his grandfather and the sense of humour from his mother.
Although now he has taken solace in silence, he once used to be a boy recognised for his socialising ability. Abhi doesn't really have a best friend but has a lot of friends in his school.
An entire book about Abhi's passion for writing would still fall short of words to describe his love for writing. In short, he had understood that his purpose in life was to write. Writing meant the world to him. Sometimes a person surrenders himself to a supreme calling beyond society's comprehension, it's not a mistake, it's just the way of being that person is designed to live. Abhi belonged to his world. When he slung his backpack over his shoulder every morning to school, he not just felt the weight of his books but also of society's expectations.
Abhi is a teenage boy who looked extremely handsome, thanks to his age and his genes. He gave butterflies to girls around him when threw a beautiful little smile. He was tall and fair skinned. His hair was lustrous brown, he looked strong with long but well-built arms. His fingers complimented his height, eyelids were so close to perfect with perfectly curved thick eyelashes. His nose is sharp and high, he has lips that look supple. He was more than capable of sending a chill down the spine to girls.
With his exams around the corner, abhi became restless more than ever. Firstly because he didn't like what he was studying, and secondly he hardly paid any attention in class. But now he had a huge mountain to move. He had to pass this exam at any given cost. So he decided to study and atleast pass with bare minimum. He did it according to his plan.
Back to the day 15th of July. It was the last day of his examination. Because he studied till late in the night, his room was a mess. Sakshi has come to wake him up. It was an important day for both the brother and sister. Abhi gets ready and sees his father at the breakfast table. Sakshi had prepared what Abhi realised the most. Abhi's mother prepared a peanut butter sandwich everytime he headed to do something important. Seeing the peanut butter sandwiches on the breakfast table, abhi burst into tears. It took Sakshi and their father sometime to console Abhi. They finally managed to see off Abhi with a smile on his face.
Abhi entered the examination hall with nervousness and thousands of
