A New beginning.
Ananya wakes up to her alarm on a Monday morning next to her husband. She looked at him sleeping as she got up and set on the bed with her legs down on the floor, with her back to her sleeping husband she tied up her hair in a loose bun and got up from bed heading to the washroom to get fresh. It was her first day at her new office today. It’s just been a week since she moved to his new city after gritting married to Rahul, who was a bank manager in a national bank. Moving to the city posh city was a big task for Ananya as she was from a small town and hadn’t been out that much. She just kept to herself and her family besides taking care of her job. Now moving to this new life her responsibilities have increased a lot, taking of the house, her husband, and her new job location. And she knew things weren’t going to be easy for a small-town girl like her in an economically driven city.
Getting fresh she headed to the kitchen to make breakfast for both of them as her husband got ready for his day. Having breakfast together they sat together and didn’t talk much. It is an arranged marriage, without much time to know each other. Both of them were still trying to understand the situation. Rahul got ready for his work and he asked Ananya if he should drop her at her office on the way to which he just got a gentle nod. He waited at the door as Ananya walked out in her police inspector uniform, her hair well-tied in a bun behind her head. Coming out to Rahul who was just looking at her as this was the first time, he was seeing her in his uniform. He had not gotten over the fact that he had married a police inspector.
Rahul soon droves her to her new police station. As she was getting out of the car he tapped her hand gently, “have a good day” he said in a low tone to which Ananya nodded back “you too” and just stepped out of the car and put on her hat and started to walk into the building.
Walking into the new police station Ananya just stands at the main door and looks inside, even just the first room is bigger than her entire old station back in her hometown. “Shhh this is a big step up” she just whispers slowly to herself as she steps in. The other staff members notice her and soon everyone welcomes her inside, there are a few citizens as well in the station and a couple of criminals locked up in the cell. The inspector welcomes her to the station and introduces her to all the staff and shows her the most entire station. Everyone salutes her as she walks up to them and she nods at them and thanks them.
Finally, after the tour she takes her seat in her new cabin she closes her eyes and takes a breath as she relaxes, remembering her first day as a police officer. Her dad was so proud of her that day, but sadly things didn’t remain well between the two for long. Ananya walks up to a knock on her cabin as the inspector comes in. She spends the rest of her day getting to know the city and its criminals and studying the ongoing cases.
By evening, as she wraps up her day at 7 pm, she gets a call from her husband asking if he should pick her up to which she denies telling the station car will drop her home. She heads out of the station after checking with the rest of the staff and gets in the car. While driving on the highway, she notices a rush on the road and people running out of the park in a hurry. She asks the driver to stop the car and quickly runs to check the situation, while the driver gets busy helping a young girl on the road.
Running inside Ananya finds a guy standing in front of a bench with a gun in his hand and a guy lying dead on the bench while a girl is sitting next to him n screaming in horror.
