Chapter 1
Start The frog’s last song
Once, long, long ago deep in the swamp lived Mr Frog.
Mr frog loved to sing even though he could only croak and constantly wished that he’d be given the gift of singing.
Tired of hearing Mr frog’s wish and constant croaking, the swamp goddess granted him a lovely singing voice.
Mr frog was so pleased and wrote and sang many songs to thank the swamp goddess.
One day whiles in his swamp, he heard cries coming from within the reeds in his swamp.
Upon taking a closer look he, realized it was a flamingo crying his eyes out.
The flamingo explained that it was mating season but the female flamingo he’d set his eyes on was very top notch, she could sing very well and desired a mate who could impress her with a musical talent.
Touched by his plight, Mr frog offered his new voice box to the flamingo
“Go and woo her with my fantastic voice“ said mr frog; and so the flamingo went off with Mr frog’s new voice.
Later that night he returned to Mr frog and was still crestfallen “Why are you still sad?” asked Mr frog.
“She requires another song for her to accept me” said the flamingo.
Mr frog was hesitant but told the flamingo to continue using his voice box. So, off went the flamingo, who sang his heart out and won the female flamingo’s attention.
Desperate to show off his new bride, the flamingo threw a party for all his friends which lasted three days.
Sadly, on the last night the voice box of Mr frog had weakened because of the constant singing and broke.
The flamingo quickly returned to Mr frog full of apologies and thanked him for loaning him his beautiful voice.
After the flamingo left, Mr frog tried singing and realized that he was croaking again. He tried singing again and again and felt very angry because he knew that the flamingo had tricked him.
He didn’t even know where to begin to look for the flamingo except for where they met.
Mr frog kept going back to where he’d first met the flamingo but the flamingo never returned.
Although he had lost his beautiful singing voice, he never gave up on singing.
You can still hear him croaking in hopes of getting the attention of the swamp goddess again.
The end.
