Chapter 1
“Push it Val, faster!”, she thought to herself as she attempted to swim her hundred-meter back stroke in record time. Valerie Savina was alone in the pool today just like every other day she visited the Shoreline Hotel and Spa. As a student she had swam competitively with a team but now she swims to clear her thoughts and keep active. The first dive always revitalised her especially after a chaotic day at the paper.
Valerie Savina had worked as a journalist with the Daily Circus Gazette for over five years and she loved every minute of her day but right now she was researching an assignment which was a little nerve wrecking. This swim was definitely needed because she knew she was getting herself into the kind of trouble that could have serious consequences. Knowing that, though didn’t stop her from pursuing this fiasco of a story. Too many hands were in the wrong baskets and somehow she was able to follow a trail of events that could uncover one of the most serious crimes in her island’s history. She couldn’t back out now.
