Chapter 1
SUNDOWN
by Devilcaster
It is the year 2081. All crime is now investigated by super robotic detectives. Most of the United States is now an integrated network of rural countryside and magnificent city vistas.
Due to the large population, the United States federally executed a plan to transfer crime fighting to AI powered androids. Not all of the detectives are the same. Each detective is built uniquely with advanced chips in the Oregon Manufacturing City, or OMC.
Electronics throughout civilization have been outfitted with anti-electromagnetic pulse technologies, allowing for a fool proof iron grid capable of sustaining cities and farms in the events of outages caused by pollution, weather, or warfare.
The OMC has recently out boarded a new wave of detective units with human organs bred by chimera lab animals, namely sheep. Only three of the detective units were made. They have been deemed freak science experiments that oppose the creation of the human species. All three were set for extermination in the OMC Facility Number 13. However, the Iron Team, the creators of the cyborg units, did not inform the government and United Nations of a fourth.
The cyborg has been developed in secret by Iron Team. FN-13 is now field testing its creation in the East Mega City, or EMC.
The United States and United Nations, along with the People’s Republic of China and the African Space Union, have agreed that these cyborg units are illegal due to the harm they inflict upon the sanctity of life.
This sparks the beginning of a deadly stunt orchestrated by the OMC General Council and Iron Team. Now, an elite wave of super mercenaries is simultaneously being used by the Pan-Asian Bonelli Syndicate to control EMC’s small businesses and corporate industries. Bodyguards on contract from super soldier breeding facilities are technically legal in the US and China. They are illegal only in the European Union, United Kingdom, and ASU. Most super soldier breeding facilities are in international waters near the Arctic---being near Scandinavia and Old Russia.
Devin Lantern, Program Director for Emerging Technologies in the Ministry of Defense in the ASU, has been tasked with developing police surveillance capable of tracking super soldiers. The super soldiers being used as bodyguards and enforcers are incredibly dangerous. The United States Congress and President has been attempting to make these facilities and their products illegal. The justice system has been deadlocked by corporate meddling.
