The Anomaly

This is the story of a time traveler who accidentally puts her whole existence in danger. Will she fix her mistake before it's too late?

Sienna: Hi I’m Sienna and I like to draw.

Mr. Silva: Good job Sienna, now who’s next?

Maddy: I’m Maddisyn and I love science.

Narrator: See, Sienna and Maddy are best friends. Unfortunately, the final piece to their puzzle wasn’t in Mr.Silva’s class with them. Even if they were separated, they could make it work when the teacher took a sick day. I know you don’t want to hear the teacher’s boring first day of school after the ice-breaker speech so I’ll skip that. This was the day I had fucked up. Just as Sienna and Maddy crossed the hall, I appeared, in a bright purple flash.

Sienna: Maddy, let’s go down the other staircase.

Maddy: Girl, we’re gonna be late. We already have to deal with the Romeos and Juliets screwing in the middle of this one.

Sienna: We have lunch. And our lockers are on the other side of the building, remember.

Maddy: We should catch up with Lena.

Narrator: I couldn’t hide from them. Sienna is already paranoid. She’d look everywhere in the vicinity.

Maddy: Um, You should change your clothes before you get caught.

Sienna: She’s obviously new here. Her eyes don’t ooze depression. Wait until they give you the mandatory binder speech. You’ll be at another school in about a week.

Maddy: Stop Sienna. You are not helping.

Ember: I don’t go here. My name is Ember and I need to talk to you, Sienna.

Sienna: About what, how to stay up all night reading fanfiction? Unfortunately we have to go before Lunch ends. Bye.

Narrator: She didn’t want to talk to me because she knew who I was. All It took was my name. She was, or should I say she was going to be my mother. She knew my name because she’d thought about it for a while. It was a normal reaction for her to want to get away from me but I knew she would eventually talk to me. She had questions. I just had to wait until after school to approach her again.

Maddy: Do you know her?

Sienna: I have never seen her before. I don’t know why she would want to talk to me.

Maddy: Ok so are you going to see what she wants or are you just going to avoid her?

Sienna: I’m not going to see her. Stranger danger, remember?

Maddy: You’re the impulsive one. I’m just trying to see what’s going on. Oh, hey Lena.

Lena: What’s up?

Maddy: Some girl showed up and wanted to talk to Sienna. She said her name was Amber I think.

Sienna: Ember.

Lena: Was she in the same class or something?

Sienna: No, she appeared out of nowhere.

Lena: And you don’t know her?

Sienna: Nobody I know that currently exists, has the name Ember.

Maddy: What do you mean by that?

Sienna: Ember is the secret name I chose for my future daughter. Unless that girl can read minds, she couldn’t know that. This is the only time I’ve said it out loud.

Lena: That’s insane.

Sienna: Hopefully she stays away from me.
