Prologue
War raged between Nilthrim & Druesber for one hundred years, throwing their societies into torment, famine, and taboo natures that defiled their citizens. As the populations began to plumet from disease and starvation – one significant figure rose to the power, striking a deal with the Court of Druesber & the Court of Nilthrim – a Priest who is singing the praises of the Goddess Lorient.
The Priest has declared to both courts, that if they convert their people to the Faith including all of those in the Court and Castle that the war will no longer have such an effect on their people. Along with this promise came the concept that the Goddess would also help to end this war, allowing both Courts to see a reasoning between them and resolving this matter. They were losing those whom served them, who kept their reigns in structure, so after just a few short days of deliberation they decided to announce the lands conversion to the faith of Lorient.
For years the faith in the Old Gods had become withered in the hearts of their people as many of them blamed the Gods for not ending this war, saving them from the strife and death it had caused. The High Priest Malient stood before a congregation of the two Courts and their loyal subjects to tell the Goddess’ story – an ethereal war had been waging above them. He described how the Goddess had also grown so tired of the death of the people within these two realms and in turn she waged war upon them, ending their reign with swift blows of her sword of light to shed their blood just as their carelessness had done to their followers below.
The Courts declared the temples to immediately be reclaimed in her honor which spurred their people to work as a community, removing all sense of hostility between their people. Streets became clear and vibrant with the energy of life returning to the land. This pleased the Courts and they praised Malient for bringing the answer of Lorient to them through gifts of gold, spices, and a full presence of unending devotion.
As they settled into their new way of life, they found a need to protect this conversion and joining under Lady Lorient by purging the lands of those who refused this change. The High Priest placed those in power under him to each of the larger municipalities with a firm direct order – remove the Old Religion & it’s followers from the outlying lands. He could not hire the amount of lower Priest’s to complete this themselves so each one was given the authority to employ a team of men to search out and cleanse the lands of these now non-believers. No one could foretell the destruction and darkness that was to come from this order.
