"DELIGHTED to find such niche content. For characterization in specific, because of the mentioned buildup and everyday engagement, the predictability (or lack thereof) can become both a blessing and a curse. This makes less developed characters stick out, which is something writers can play with, but I don't know if this one hit the mark for me in that regard. However, it's not the worst writing sin in the world, and can be somewhat forgiven with the knowledge not all characters get as much time for purely logical/plot reasons. Some characters you may not see as often, or in a fleeting manner just enough to get their own job done and then they move on, because they all work at a firm at the end of the day. I do notice some underdevelopment belongs to majority female characters, but it could be purely coincidence given some context. Ways to improve this would be to reframe the understanding of a character's role in a story, or better yet, their purpose in it (and I understand that can probably mean a dozen things). If they are not necessary for storytelling or clarity, it might be best to eliminate rather than add. But, that is your final say and not my own. Don't take my nitpicks too seriously. On the other hand, it's clear the author understands how law firms function (even the small things), and it sets the tone and makes a hugely positive impact when they get to the alluded conspiracy itself. The use of real procedures and common work lawyers and their associates engage in on a daily basis really does a good job at building a solid foundation for which the plot begins. Overall, the impending threat of the external corruption is pretty true to real life, and reading it feels like a fever dream, but in a good, enlightening way I clearly didn't pass up. There's sometimes a refocus on subplots, but I feel they all generally more or less work together. it's excellent and the reader is the benefactor."
