"Axel shouldn't have left without so much as a note or a text. I like this story a lot im just upset she took off without waiting to find out some answers from Axel. Sounds to me like Mace (Axel's wolf) is gonna kick his ass for hurting their mate for so long. Hopefully they find eachother again. Axel has a son, Brody, that he needs to find out about and be there for. I also think that Bow and his mate are Jackson's parents and they are too late in getting to the bar/hotel to find them bit maybe Malcolm or Carson knows where they are and can tell Jackson. Maybe they will make it in time to catch the guy that killed Axel's dad and Axel can kill him once and for all. Gotta find book 2"

"So far so good. I like this book a lot. It seems to have a good story and plot. It moves pretty well throughout the story I like reading it except for it seems like it changed the name of the gamma from Dan to Dan somewhere in the book and that was kind of weird."

"I thought this story was suppose to be complete? Can’t stand suspense that takes so long to find out what happens. It’s disappointing to say the least. I love the storyline but taking more than 3 years for them to find each other and him having sex with someone else — just heart breaking. "
The setup novel
"This was a good first book for the author, not literally but in the series. It established the characters, gave them enough depth to stand on their own and set up the world around them. I originally thought this would be a standalone novel but it became apparent about 20 chapters in that it wasn't going to conclude with a happy ending in another 10 chapters, not counting the epilogue. The female lead goes through some high emotions throughout the book, Not just the abandonment by her on again off again boyfriend, but also by the unexpected effects of that relationship. She does the right thing for her mental state and leaves that all behind and finds friends who become family. The male lead is projected at the beginning as a strong character but slowly loses that attitude and certainty due to some heavy emotional issues he has to deal with. Thrust into the Alpha role early he does what he can to help the pack heal after a major attack and begins to heal. His choice to heal his heart however cause him to deal pain and heartache to his mate. Some allowances can be made that he doesn't know who she is, but it takes retribution on her part for him to realize his error. In most shifter novels the wolf and the man are intertwined but in this one he doesn't listen to his wolf half and it costs him dearly. All in all a good book, just know it leads to others and it isn't a standalone effort. "
