Prologue

You can never love two people the same way. Each individual love receives a part of you that is as unique as the sparkle in their eye, the constant companion to their laughter, and the way they make your heart melt. Progressing through life, I believe some of us come across or experience some profound love stories, but none greater than the experiences we endure ourselves. And that is what mine was. Profound. The kind that makes hormonal teenage eyes gloss over with hope and old folks smile and nod in their knowing way. Don’t ask me how, or for that matter, why it happened to me because I frankly don’t have an answer for you. All I know is that it felt like it was meant to happen, like other things in my life, it was predestined if you will.

I’m not some cheesy sap who blindly believes in destiny and the so-called “Grand Plan ″, because let’s be honest here, that’s a total load of bull. But I do believe that there are special circumstances, like those books that have different endings in them based on the pages you choose, that create the perfect setting for those once in a lifetime miracles we like to call soul mates.

Yup. I said it. Soul mates. Don’t give me that look. At least let me elaborate before you quickly write this off as one of those wannabe romance novels that leaves women wanting for a kind of whirlwind love that doesn’t exist.

My name is Kathleen, well it was for that matter because right now I think I’m in heaven. But I’m getting ahead of myself.

It all started because I had to take an astronomy class to finish off my unoriginal GE requirements. I didn’t really have any hopes as to what this class would do for me, even though I absolutely love staring at the stars for hours, most people don’t know how to keep you interested for that long. This 8 AM class was going to become my snooze fest until he walked in.

My life altered its course the second I caught a glimpse of that man in his wrangler jeans and camo hat. Let me tell you the story so you can catch up to where I’m at right now.

Obsidian: He's hilarious. Like, actually. I loved it. You're writing style is great, although you could do with a few less murmurs and mutters.
