No such thing as a Good Russian

"This is a fascinating read that deals with a real catastrophe - the war in Ukraine - with a step into the near future. Putin is gone but his successor is even worse. Dan Court is a security advisor to a Canadian cabinet minister; he is sent to find out if Boris Luca Devin is a 'good Russian' or a bad one. Devin has set up shop in 'cottage country' in Ontario, supposedly to oppose the war. Maybe... maybe not. Court runs into a lot of opposition as he seeks the answer to the title question. I liked descriptions of this part of Canada and the story is a thriller with sidebars about war and politics. I loved the ending. Absorbing and unique writing by G. R. Daniels."

no such thing as a good russian

"No such thing as A Good Russian is a thriller with a great deal of action and drama thoughout. It's set in Canada (with excursions into Ukraine and Russia's Kremlin) and has absorbing descriptions of 'cottage country' in this huge and fascinating country. The novel will be up to date for quite a while since most of it takes place during the term of a Russian president after Vladimir Putin. The title itself is controversial and grabbing - In this time of the invasion of an innocent nation by an oppressive, land-grabbing kleptocrat, are there any Good Russians out there? A good question bound up in an exciting, absorbing book by G.R. Daniels."
