Prologue

My head was surrounded by dark red, I couldn't breathe I couldn't speak I could only hold on to my last thinking thoughts that kept me alive and as calm as I could be.

He grabbed my arm carefully and squeezed it as he looked into my eyes reassuringly as a large needle was stuck into the bend of my arm I gasped quietly and the nurse gave me a small amused look as she asked about my week. "Nothing much has happened" I said looking away from the nauseating blood flow that shot ghrough the clear tube I felt it stop for a second then she put in another tube into the odd contraption that sucked my blood like a vampire or tick. I thought about that for a few seconds before I shook the thoughts away. I looked over to see the nurse who was around 50 or 60 look at mh dad with curious eyes and he eyed me catching up on her watching him. We chuckled at the same time in the same manner. The nurse was slightly red in the face as she grabbed the vial of blood and pulled the needle out a little more rough than i would have liked. I winced and felt the spot were the sharp needle had peirced my skin. It trickled blood down onto my light white shirt. The nusre got out of her own head and grabbed a cotton ball and some medical tape wrapping it around my arm. She then left the room leaving us there waiting for her to come back and tell us what to do my dad pulled a few jokes that made me feel a little bit better and then the nurse came back in it had been around ten minutes she had nothing in her hands as she walked towards me. "I am going to ask you to lean back." She told me with a stern but gentle tone like I was a slightly misbehaving child. I leaned back in the chair she asked me to look at the light above me and not to look away i did as she asked she pulled my lower eyelid down looking at the pink area between the white on my eye and my eyelid. She tisked and said something to my dad that I didnt pay attention to as I sat back up. "From what i can tell she probably has a iron deficancy," she paused shifting her eyes over to mine continuing. "But it will be better to wait until the tests come in to say for sure. I am recomending that you keep from sitting up or getting up to fast. Check under your eyes,"-She pilled her eyelid down showing me the pink under the white of her eye and said-"Everyday to make sure it is a redder color. Okay?" I sais okay and she escorted us out of the room into the large hospital waiting area. I got a text from my boyfriend as soon as we stepped out of the hospital. My dad leaned over being nosy trying to figure out who texted me. I smiled and swatted him away looking down at the phone. My dad put his arm around my shoulder and walked to the car we joked around on the way to our small house in town. We were about three miles away from our house when my head started throbbing I said nothing to my dad. My headache traveled down my body and then the cold chills hit me which hurt even more i looked ahead at the road trying to zone out i shook and my dad looked over at me as i curled up and fell into a fitful sleep.

I had listened as my sleepy muffled brain tried to comprehend what was happing slowly. Then fear raced though my veins as i opened my eyes. The pain didnt register as we ran head first into the other vehicle. The screeching of the tires, the metal bending and snapping and the windshield splintering. I put my arms over my head and curled put sleeply braced for death. I took one last glance my father's direction his hand was over me but his body postion was strangly calm his eyes loving as he looked over at me his stark blue eyes lighting up with the flicker of lightening then darkness.
