a COURT of ROSES

A warm breeze swept over me as I walked through the royal garden. My wings brushed against the white rose buds on the bushes.

"The roses should be growing back soon, My Queen. It's almost time." My servent, Buzzered said.

"Yes I know, and I can't wait." I say, sarcastically. He smiles and starts tending to the buds my wing brushed. I reached to pick the first blooming rose, my finger gets caught on a spike and it cuts me. Blood drizzled off onto the rose, the red drop bleeds into the white rose causing it to turn red, the only red within the white ones. I sigh and wipe the blood from my finger. Boredom took over and I left the gardens, trusting Buzzered would look after the roses.

The sun danced on the floor of my bedroom through the torn curtains. Hmm...I wonder where my brain came up with that, I thought. I tried to think of why the roses seem similar to something...I might have read it somewhere. I slip out of the covers and go to the closet. A black tank top, red flannel over shirt, light blue, ripped skinny jeans, and a couple bracelets will do. As I get dressed I see my gray cap and flip it backwards and place it on my head.

I grab my backpack and head into the kitchen. "Good morning Lia, breakfast?" Mother asked.

"sure," I say, stuffing my mouth with french toast and heading out the door. I realized I forgot my keys and quickly ran back in to grab them. There was no chance in hell that I was taking the bus. I walk up to my shiny, blue, convertible, Mustang and unlock the doors. I threw my bag in the back seat planing on grabbing Nova on my way there. Nova is a nonbinary short fayed blue hair dark green eyes and amazing style. I sat in the cold, black, leather seat. As the engine started I turned the heat all the way up. 887 Cocktail Sauce St. ....Maybeeeee......... I thought to myself. The engine roared as I drove down the street to Nova's House.
