Chapter 1

Chibettes are so far the only species to their knowledge that changes from male to female as they age until they reach full maturity, when they are able to decide for themselves are they male or female.

The planet the Chibette live on now is almost dead, and will shortly implode upon itself. So for the survival of the entire species they have been looking for other options.

Shandra is very upset about her eldest living child, going out into the world's, to find a new planet for her people to colonize. Exploration is of the utmost importance so she will have to keep her fear's to herself.

While Dranko is a very smart child, top of their classes, in education. They have yet to reach full maturity, or even know which sex they think they want to be yet.

Knowing that they would be on the same ship as her brother, does nothing to calm down her mind over the child going. Bishop is probably going to eat Dranko before they get out of the atmosphere. Men have less control than women do when it comes to the very young Chibette, because they're quite honestly delicious.

"Dranko, do you have everything you should need for your trip?" Shandra sticks her head through the waterfall of Dranko's private area to look at her child for the 7th time today.

"Still waiting for my favorite covering to get out of the dryer, because I can't sleep without it." The same reply given the last 2 times, Shandra asked.

"Well I think that it's done so go get it and get ready to leave, your ride should be here already"

Dranko reaches into grab their favorite sleep cover as they get yet another headache, great I'm going to be turning into a girl at the starting of this mission, at least the powers that be can't stop me from going at this late date

Bishop walked in unannounced, as usual to get his sister's child. "Hello my beautiful extra family where's everyone at" he hollers to get everyone's attention.

Dranko/Dranka depending upon what stage of re-gender-fication they are in hops around the corner "Uncle Bishop I thought you were supposed to be at the launch site and wouldn't be able to give me a ride"

B: "I was but I realized that you wouldn't be able to get in if I sent a scooter for you so I came to get you myself " as they look at the child and realize"The change" could be coming soon.

Such an intriguing start! I love the gender fluidity of this species, and particularly like how you are being careful with the pronouns.  The adults are she or he because they have chosen a gender, but the child is they because it has not yet been chosen.  I had to work hard to never use gendered pronouns for my Guardians unless they have chosen a gender for their manifestation, so I appreciate how easy it is to slip.
