where it all begins
I met my long-time friend Laya at our favorite spot and we had a great time. It’s been at least three years since we last talked in I was all for it. I couldn’t stop watching how good she look after all this time. All my mind was on was her little body that I use to fuck and curious if she letting someone else hit it too. I felt my heart pinch just from the thought of it. We met in college and hit it off since never had we left each other side until both of us started dating others. An image that not once did we claim to be a couple.
Laya had a thing that she couldn’t settle down with anyone. I wasn’t like that at all, and I didn’t want to. Laya always had my attention no matter which room she was in or any area. That is how connected I felt to her, but something felt wrong today as we sit across from each other. Her eyes were bright and laughing at all my jokes.
“Laya, why didn’t call me, I would have helped you in your time of need” I told her leaning over the table
Laya laughs and leans back “No, Troy. I don’t want to be a damsel in distress that always need to be saved.” Licking her lips, I watch her tongue glide from one end to the other.
“You and I both know I wouldn’t have mind helping you as you have done for me many times” I told her smirking and reaching under the table tempted to touch her again but instead I put my hands on my lap.
“Troy, really why did call me here, after all, this time we spent away.” She asked me staring at me with those beautiful brown eyes of hers. I wanted to cross the table and kiss her and never hold back.
“I wanted to give you the great news about my life now and to catch up. You know not talking to you has been very sad for me.
“Really?” she asked
“mmmhm” I replied
“So, what is the news” she asked smiling at me again
“I’m officially a married man” I told her showing her my ring and watching her closely as she swallows looks down at her lap when she looks up there was a smile on her lips.
“I see congratulations are needed” she tells me in a blink of an eye looking away for a second then back at me.
“No need, all I wanted is your presents and a good conversation” I tell her laughing feeling her distancing herself way. “Other than your troubles how is everything for you” I asked her
“it’s good, just trying to get my life together. And you know you have a wife for that Troy” she pointed out glaring at me as she sips her wine glancing away and back at me
“Do you have a boyfriend?” I asked eating my food curious of her answer.
“No” she smiles
“Husband?” I asked
She chuckles and runs her hand through her hair “No, I don’t have one of those either” she tells me.
“Why not? You always had a guy on the side other than me” I tell her finishing my meal as I drink vodka on rocks. Laya looked to be thinking about something really hard as she eats and swallows.
“True, but it wasn’t anything that lasted long for weeks are months” she answers me. “Every guy that I dated was either wanted a good fuck or money that I couldn’t afford” she laughs sipping her drink. “What a fool was I to let one live with me for six months” she rubbed her hands on her pants.
“I’m sorry lay... I didn’t know” I told her.
She waves her hand and drinks some more “You didn’t know Troy” she tells me. “I got a new job at Buffy’s, and it’s not bad just needs order, maybe new uniforms”
I lean back nodding thinking of a way to get her a job closer to me and maybe a new place that isn’t in the hood. I knew her like the back of my hand. “Laya, do you still stay by the park on lee value rode on the left side where that train station is two blocks away.” I watch her sticking my hand in my pocket.
“Yes, and why are getting all serious on me now Troy? We are supposed to be celebrating you” lifting her glass towards me with a smile.
“Yeah, I know but all want to do now is to help you out. Maybe loan you some money to get into a different place-” I started but laya put her drink down wrapping her arms around herself.
“Did I ask you for your help?” she asked me
“No, but-” she cut me off again
“I don’t need charity work or pity from you or anyone else” she whispers leaning closer to the table and giving me a good view of her breast. She stands up fixing her peach nylon pencil skirt with a brown Silk Satin Tank Top. Her hair is in an updo ponytail that makes her look sixteen then thirty years of age. I had to chuckle and watch her face twist in anger.
“Your cute when your mad” I told her getting up myself and leaving the money on the table. I grab her hand before she walks ahead of me. We walked out together as she tries to pull away from me. I pulled her closer to me placing my hand under her chin. “I wasn’t trying to make you feel like I pity you. I just really want to help you lay. We are friends and friends help each other out when needed. I hate that you feel I will leave you out to dry and don’t shelter you from the cold.” I told her leaning into her to hug her. She was still for a moment then slowly wrap her arms around me.
“Thank you, Troy! I really appreciate that you care. I just don’t want to cause you any trouble with your wife” she tells me leaning back without breaking the hug.
I smiled down at her since I am six feet and one inch taller than her five feet and five inches figure. She looks up to me staring at me for a minute, I let myself check her out. She had this cute pout to her bow-shaped lips with her cute little button nose and a piercing brown eye that looks into my soul.
“I got your back, just call me and I will be there. I promise” I told her as her ride pulls up at the drive away.
“I know! And I will” she tells me pulling away and walking to her car.
“Laya!” I called her
She pause getting into her car looks at me “Troy?”
“I’ll see you around okay” I told her
She looks down smiling then at me “You never change Troy. By the way I like your Jogging Suits burgundy looks good on you” and with that, she gets in her car and drives away. I smile watching her leave take my keys from the valet and get in my car I drive away turning on the radio not listening to the radio lost in my thoughts. When I get home I park in the garage walking into the house closing the door behind me. there was a sweet aroma smell in the air as I walk in the kitchen there is my wife Helen in her nightie drinking wine leaning on the countertop watching TV.
“I have an appointment in two days” she tells me as I walk up to her taking off my jacket.
“Why, is something wrong with you” I asked her
“No. why would you even have to ask me that” she looks at me and stands straight and hugs me. “You know why” she tells me, I could hear her voice tremble as she holds me tighter. “I have to know” she tells me
“Everything is going to be okay” I told her kissing the side of her neck.
She shakes her head and I could feel her tears on my shoulder “what if I can’t-” she gasped “I want kids so bad” she told me.
“And we will..” I promise her.
She pushes me away and throws her glass on the ground “YOU CAN’T Just SAY THAT! Troy! We have been trying for three years and still no kids” she yells at me walking away from me. I felt sorry for her knowing there wasn’t anything I could say to make her feel better but just be there and comfort her and that’s just what I did. I walk in our room crawled into bed and hold her until we both fall asleep.
