A Sad Start
“Beep, Beep, Beep” the sound of the heart monitor always made my heart skip a beat. My dad lay on the hospital bed, it’s like he was asleep. No movement, nor sound leaves his body. “Dad, I don’t want you to leave me here” I cried. “I love you, dad, please don’t leave me”. “Remember when you taught me to ride a bike and throw a ball? Or that time I broke my arm, and you kissed it better” the sobs echoed off the walls. I love you daddy; I want you to come back to me. “I will wait for you to come home dad” the tears continued to fall down my damp cheeks. “You are all I have left”. If you leave, who will be there to hold my hand, or what about my wedding, daddy? Will you be there? Come back, please come back to me. His face was pale, I admired every wrinkle and every freckle. I want to remember.
