Prologue

“And here weds Viper Inzo, Courtney Farwell. Soon to be Courtney Inzo. Do we have any objections?”

The wedding reception laid silent, not a single sound of denial.

”Damnit someone say something! I don’t want to be here!” Viper thought to himself, his lips twitching but nothing coming out.

“Well, furthermore, Courtney, do you take Viper Inzo as your husband?”

“I do.” She said, looking deep into Vipers eyes.

“And Viper Inzo, do you take Courtney Farwell as your wife?”

“I-I….” The crowd snickered at his uncertainty, the cold gun on the back of Viper’s head spoke louder than his thoughts.

“I-I do.” He stuttered, the words barely coming out, tears started to roll down his face.

“You may now kiss the bride.”

Courtney cautiously stepped forward, wrapping her arms around Vipers neck, looking deep in his dark eyes.

“This is fucking insane, I can’t marry her. I-I can’t do this.” Viper thought, his body getting shaky.

Hesitatingly, He reached to grab Courtney’s waist and reluctantly leaned down to kiss her.

As they kissed the crowd clapped, Courtney gently pulled back from Viper.

“It’s okay to cry love, this is a big part of our lives.” She said lovingly, gently caressing his face.

Viper was speechless, not in love but in fear. Right now he wished he could just disappear, not only from the embarrassment of a man like him being held hostage at his own wedding but the fact that he was being forced to be married in the first place.

As everyone stood up and began filing out of the room, the gun was pulled away from Vipers head and the man behind him grabbed his shoulder.

“Good job Viper~” The man chimed, starting to push him into a different room.

Courtney grabbed Vipers hand and led him along into an offset room with the other man. The room was a shade of gray with only a desk and 3 chairs visible.

“S-So what the hell is this-?” Viper muttered, as he stepped into the room.

“The room is nothing special, the special thing will happen when you sit down.” The man chimed, stepping in after, locking the door.

As both Viper and Courtney sat at one side of the desk, the man behind Viper walked around and sat across from them. Pulling out a singular paper and sliding it over to them, tossing a pen.

Viper took a good look at the man that had been holding him at gunpoint a few seconds ago, a tall, scrawny, blonde with brown eyes.

“Surely I could have taken him down, his deep voice doesn’t fit him at all.” Viper thought to himself, scanning over the papers.

“Sign here, and here.” Said the blonde, pointing to places on the paper.

“What the hell is this..?” Questioned Viper, scowling at the man.

“It’s the official papers, believe or not, here in the Mafia we have to have papers.” Chimed the blonde, taking out his gun.

“I'm not gon-“

“You will sign the fucking papers.” Viper got cut off by the blonde lifting his gun over the desk and pointing it at him.

“You gotta be fucking me.” Viper muttered, grabbing the pen and messily scribbled a signature down, Courtney following suit.

After they signed, the blonde man grabbed the paper, folded it neatly and slid it in an envelope.

“Viper, stand up, and put your hands behind your back.” He said confidently, stepping around the desk towards Viper.

Viper obediently rose with a scowl on his face, shoving his hands behind him with an attitude. The Blonde stepped behind him grabbing his arms, and holding them together, walking him out the door with Courtney following behind.

“Oi, Blondy.” Viper muttered, turning his head back to look at him.

“Do you ever shut up? What the hell do you want?” The man muttered back, returning the look Viper was giving him.

“What’s your name.” Viper asked, still trying to look behind him.

“I suppose, sense I will be working with you for the rest of your life, I could tell you my name.” He continued, “My name’s Seito, and since I work on the behalf of Courtney as her bodyguard, I’ll be around for a while.” He chimed, seemingly proud of himself for getting the job.

Seito leaned up into Vipers ear and began to harshly whisper, “Just so you're aware, you're an absolute degenerate and you don’t deserve Courtney. She’s such a beautiful woman, and it’s a shame she has to marry some piece of shit like you.” Seito hissed into Vipers ear, his grip on Viper’s arms tightening.

“Great.” Viper thought to himself, “This bastards got a Lover’s Complex.“

“You can have her if you want, I don't want or need her.“ Viper muttered under his breath.

Seito grinned at the reply, loosening the grip he had on Vipers arms.

“Well, “Seito”, where are we heading to now?” Viper said, purposely dragging his feet.

“I’m taking you to your boss, he’ll give you instruction from there.” Seito continued, “And as I’m sure you're wondering by now, after we meet with boss I won’t have to walk you around like you're a hostage.”

“Good, I’m sick and tired of you dragging me around.” Viper growled, starting to walk properly again.

The three step outside the large building they were in, a black limo sitting outside waiting for them. Seito leaned down, opening the door for Courtney, gesturing her in. Following suit, Seito threw Viper in the seat and slid in after him.
