Summary

Headstrong publicist, Leslie King, and her stubborn client Sebastian Harrison find that their discord creates more problems than one once he becomes CEO of Harrison Incorporated. Sebastian Harrison is now the leader of Harrison Incorporated--one of the most successful real estate and brokerage empires to have ever existed. And not only do the pressures of being a CEO get to his psyche but the memory of the fallout between him and Leslie King, his publicist, linger around him as well. Leslie has tried to make an effort to move on from her romantic feelings towards Sebastian and dysfunctional last meeting with him as well. She has a new job at a PR firm (thanks to Sebastian), has taken up new clients (one of them still being Sebastian) and has even started growing interest in someone else. Who happens to be a new business partner with Sebastian. Leslie and Sebastian soon realize that no matter what they do to move on from each other, their lives continue to intertwine with each others' after every move in the opposite direction. But, the new additions to their lives prove to be permanent residents that clash against each other with every step they take--regardless of if it's a step away or towards each other. And eventually, they learn that these new additions have dangerous and destructive influences.

PART I

I’ve always wondered what it’s like

what it’s like to be part of the other side of order

the other side of right. The other side of perfect.

who’s to say I was any of that ever, anyway?

my whole life has been centered around expectation.

my whole life has been centered around calm.

who is to say I was any of that ever, anyway?

now that I think about it, when have I ever been who I wanted to be?

when have I ever done what I’ve wanted to do?

when have I ever gone wherever I’ve wanted to go?

when have I not projected my dreams around the concerns of a man?

instead of a man projecting his dreams around the concerns of me?

i always say sorry. i always cry. i always give. what’s it like to not give a fuck?

what’s it like to do what I want to do

and go where I want to go?

what’s it like to be expectation’s antonym

and calm’s antagonist?

i want to visit the other side of order sometime

maybe that’s where I belong

maybe that’s where I’ll move on

maybe that’s where I’ll learn not to give a fuck.
