Chaos in a Nutshell: Nonsense is our thing

Char slowly wakes up in her apartment after a long night of scrolling through Discord

She glances at the clock...and then at the other end of her bed, her black-haired boyfriend, Kenchi, mysteriously isn’t there

Char shrugs, guessing he went to the bathroom or something, but little does she know that she was right

Kenchi strolls out of the bathroom, yawning and stretching

Char blindly reaches over to her phone on the nightstand...and then proceeds to start posting memes to her friends

“Mmmmm......” She wipes her eyes, “Hey...what time is it?” Char drowsily questions

“Starbucks time” Kenchi walks beside the tv stand to slide on his sandals

“Yeah, sure, we're regulars there anyway” Char playfully rolls her eyes, dragging the covers off of her

Kenchi grins, starting to change into his normal baggy clothing

Around 20 minutes pass and they're finally ready to start their day

They leave their apartment, and off to Starbucks, which thankfully isn’t far away

Char walks inside first, rubbing her baggy eyes

Kenchi quickly takes the lead back, briskly walking to the barista

“Hey, Jimmothy, how's your girlfriend-uh...Di-...Mal-...Ham...? Ana?” Kenchi tries to suck up to the cashier, doubting his guesses about this unimportant information

"Mina" Char murmurs, peering at the tiled floor

“Mina, and she’s doing pretty well, what can I get you two today?” Jim wonder, leaning toward the counter

“The usual” Kenchi replies, all cool like...even finger-gunning Jimmothy for...some reason

“Right, right, I’ll be back” Jim starts making their coffee

Char and Kenchi start talking to each other in low tones about something referring to demons

Jim finishes up and lays their drinks on the counter

Since there's only one other 23-year-old blonde woman sitting in the corner of the cafe, the duo assumes it's their drink and returns to the counter

“Right, here you go, black coffee for the misses and black coffee for you” He hands them their drinks with a welcoming smile

“Thanks” Kenchi puts his money on the counter, picking up his drink

Char downs her coffee, the bags under her eyes start to fade away, and it's almost as if her hair straightens itself

Kenchi and Char leave the quiet establishment

But shortly after-

“Hey, do you mind if I go somewhere really quick?” Kenchi stops walking to ask her a question

“I-d-c” Char responds like she’s still in Discord

“Are you coming or staying at the apartment?” Kenchi confirms, gesturing at Char as he sips his coffee

“I d c” Char repeats, Discordly or...Messagly...Messagaly? She says the letters, there

“......Come on-” Kenchi motions, starting to walk again

Char yawns, trudging after him

They end up at a reserved bar

“Wait-Ken, we just got coffee why do we need to go to a bar?” Char asks, glancing at Kenchi

"To spike them" Kenchi rolls his eyes with a small smile

Char squints at him

“Look-I just need to talk to someone,” Kenchi forces a laugh, “It’ll be quick” He stands in front of the bar's door

“...Fine...okay-but I’m not drinking after...last time” Char declares, a small fire in her eyes, and a hint of regret

“Yeah, totally...right” Kenchi sighs, looking away while he holds the door open for Char

Char stands there, basking in the scents...and then proceeds inside

They start walking over to what I can guess is a man in a heavily armored black suit, almost knight-like, and a woman in a tank top with black hair and small dimples

“This guy is Strider” Kenchi gestures to the armored man, unenthusiastically

Strider glares at Kenchi

“...I-uh-thought he’d be-be a good addition” Kenchi slowly peers back at Char, backing away from the heavily armored beast

“He looks.......kinda...I guess overpowered? Huh...I wonder if Blank would like him?” Char questions, tapping her chin

“I think he’d be a good addition-” Kenchi finally notices the girl Strider's sitting across from- “er...hello, I’m Kenchi-who are you-?” He stares at the girl, furrowing his brows

“Oh, my name’s Luna” The girl beams, “me and Stry fry are friends”

“........You wanna join?” Kenchi stares at her, wondering where she came up with Stry fry

“I don’t have anything better to do, why not, sounds fun” Luna giggles, getting out of her seat

“Alright, c’mon” Kenchi leads, walking out, Char following

Luna chugs her margarita glass and strolls out with Strider in tow

After a short walk...

“...We’re being watched” Kenchi stops, surveying the area

Strider uncaringly keeps walking ahead

“Okay, I guess not” Kenchi shakes his head, following Strider

“LUCE” A quickly approaching man yells

“John?” Luna looks around

“HEY” Another man heavily guarded, but in grey armor, waves from across the street

“What-another one?” Kenchi's eyebrow raises, turning to face the new armored guy

Strider stops and waits, peering over his shoulder

“DID YOU GET THE VIDEO?” The man sprints up to Luna, the ground beneath him kicking up dust as he screeches to a halt

“Yeah...I question if you’re okay sometimes, Banch” Luna sighs, laughing a little

“...You seem familiar” Char strokes her chin

“Oh...that's weird” The big guy seems confused

“...Dunno-were you in a movie?" Char squints, putting a hand on her hip as she points at Banch

“Hm...” Banch stares at Char

Char stares back, waiting for an answer

“...Welp, I’ll see you later, have fun with your new friends” Banch waves at Luna, walking away with a pep in his step

“We will” Luna smiles

Strider waves at Banch without facing him

"Well-alright" Char sighs, continuing to walk

“I guess it fits, two guys in big suits make sense for them to be friends” Kenchi shrugs, going back to leading the crew

"...Am I the only one who-nevermind" Luna shakes her head, shutting up

"What?" Char glances at Luna

"What?" Luna pokes her head toward Char, an equally confused expression

"Who-nope, headache's coming back" Char rubs her forehead, looking away from Luna
