Summary

Book Title Love or Lust? Aphrodite Author Patricia Rosemary Reavey Genre Erotic Short Story based on Mythology Overview Love or Lust? focuses on the story of Aphrodite in a whole new way. Written in the first person point of view, it begins with Aphrodite explaining that she is the daughter of Adam and Lucifer’s wife, Lillth. But God took her to Heaven to raise her as an angel, though she hasn’t quite turned out to be the angel that He had hoped. Aphrodite is caught in a love triangle between Elijah and Aires, so she goes down to Hell to get help from her brother, Locan. It might just take divine intervention to help Aphrodite be with the one she loves. With a contemporary vernacular and feisty exchanges, Love or Lust? is a unique take on the story of this Greek goddess. Strong language and explicit sexual scenes make this a story for mature audiences. Will Aphrodite chose love or lust?

Chapter 1 The Beginning

Chapter 1

Where to begin? I was there at the beginning. Well, God got bored with Heaven and started creating the world you know today. But at first, He only placed a man on Earth – Adam. Before Eve came along, Adam was with Lilith. Yes, Lucifer’s Lilith. God was furious, to say the least. But He didn’t kill Lilith immediately. He waited until the baby was born – the very first of her kind.

After that, God created Eve, but He shaped her in Lilith’s image. That really angered Lucifer. So, what did Lucifer do? He slept with Eve. And Eve slept with Adam on the exact same day. That’s right – Cain is Lucifer’s son, and Abel is Adam’s. That explains why God never favoured Cain.

I know what you’re thinking – what happened to Lilith’s child? She gave birth to a baby girl before she was killed, and named her Aphrodite. That’s right – the Goddess of Love is demon-born. God took her to Heaven and raised her as one of His angels. At the time, He thought it was a good idea. Well, it wasn’t. How do I know? Because I am Aphrodite – the half-breed who sent shockwaves through both Heaven and Hell.

But it wasn’t all bad. I started to enjoy my life up there, but eventually, I got bored. I noticed there was a place on Earth that God wasn’t using, so I decided to claim it as my own.

I began creating creatures: werewolves, shadow wolves, were-cats – lions, tigers and leopards – werebears, and vampires. I was happy for a while, but then I decided to make a different kind of vampire. These ones looked like lizards, and when they fed, a literal snake would come out of their mouths. I also didn’t give them any sex organs – no penis. I wanted to test a theory: if you had no sexual organs, could you still feel sexually frustrated?

I didn’t name the first six I created. But the seventh one – I called him Nemesis. The only reason I gave him a name was that I knew, one day, I would have to be the one to kill him.

As you may have guessed, I took over the Bermuda Triangle. I thought it would be a safe haven. But then humans began sailing boats and flying planes through the area. They got trapped in the Triangle, and were either killed or transformed. That’s how my supernatural creatures began spilling out into the human world.

God was – and still is – furious with me. Now, I’ve been paired with Archangel Elijah, the Messenger Angel.
