Chapter 1 Broken
“RUMOR HAS IT THE FAMOUS BACHELORETTE CEO NELSON IS MARRIED TO TIA THE RUSSIAN MODEL”.
I see pictures of the man I love come up on tv with a lady who has short black plain hair and regular brown eyes with some wide hips and plump lips, they are on a beach what looks to be like the one he always suggested we go to, she is dressed in a white short sundress while Nel is wearing the shorts I got him with no shirt on and showing his white teeth in a nice big smile, I see he shaved his beard but when I asked him one time he made a big deal and said he liked his manly beard so I didn’t bring it up again because it wasn’t a big deal to me.
But I see he does the unthinkable for her I wonder how long they have been married for and where has she been since I have never seen a ring on any of his fingers.
I begin to cry and look at the pregnancy test I’m holding that says positive , I didn’t even know he was a CEO he says he owned a couple of businesses but never got into detail but the one and only Nelson Tapanga that no one ever sees is my Nelson.
I shut the tv off and look at my phone which has a picture of us on the beach they where just on ,we only have been seeing each other for 1 year since we met at the food truck.

I was called by my best friend Mary to help her in her food truck early morning since she is having a rush and it’s now lunch time when I look up to take my next customers order I see a guy with a brown beard hazel green eyes and a hat on with brown shaggy curls sticking out.
I give my bright smile as usual and say
” Good morning have you found anything you would like today”.
He smirks and smiles then says
” yes actually I do it’s you Ms”.
I laugh and put a hand across my chest and say” I’m flattered but I must say I’m not looking right now”.
He says
” well I will take a large black coffee and a cherry empanada along with being a friend”.
I smile and shake my head then see the line getting longer and say
” you aren’t going to give up huh”.
I put his order in and he says
” nope I was taught not to give up”.
I say
” your order number is 24 and the total is $5.25 would that be cash or card”.
He pulls out his card and hands it to me I take it and swipe it then say
” would you like your receipt “.
He shakes his head so I hand him his card back and toss the receipt in the bucket next to me.
I just finished taking orders when I see Mary putting together MR. smirking guys order, Mary’s wild red hair is In a bun on top of her head with her green eyes popping from the black lipstick she has on, I see she is showing her tattoos off which she has a lot more than me, she has on some sweatpants with a plain black shirt.
Mary says” go take your break bitch I swear you always like to work hard even if I don’t pay you.”
I sigh and say” well I rather be here than at the house waiting for you it’s all I have been doing since I graduated and moved here”.
She shakes her head and I step out the back of the truck and walk down the sidewalk a little bit.
I hear Mary say” ORDER 24”.
I see the guy walk up to the window and he is average height and has a manly body he’s wearing a dark grey suit.
He grabs his order and sips his coffee then walks this direction.
He looks and sees me then says
” well since you know I don’t give up will you give me your number I would love to see someone as honest as you”.
I say” sure but don’t call anytime of night a lady needs her sleep”.
He shakes his head then sits his coffee on the bench that I’m sitting on then pulls out his phone and hands it to me.
I take it and while entering my number he says” By the way I’m Nelson but you can call me Nel”.
I enter my number and send myself a quick text then hand it back he looks at it and says” Godelisa wow that’s a name I never heard before but is very beautiful”.
I shrug and say” well Nelson I have to get back or Mary will have my head”.
He laughs and I shake my head his laugh is so rich and hearty he says” okay I will be calling you Godelisa”.
I say” okay Nelson”.

Well as you can tell my name is Godelisa Koya and I’m 24, I was born to the most famous parents in Maldives that was until they passed. I have long thick natural red hair with some black streaks which I will assume I got from my dad since his hair was black while my moms was red, I have red long eyelashes that bring out my Grey eyes that sometimes change to blue, I’m average height with curves in the right places.
Im a NY detective where recently I moved with my childhood best friend Mary who had moved to New York a year before me and started her food truck which was a hit, she is always busy I swear so am I though. It took me a while to get a job at the department so I was helping out Mary for a while but when I solved a case on my own and brought them all the evidence and my facts they knew I was the one.
I also know how to do hacking but that’s unknown to anyone besides Mary because I used to be a hacker in Maldives when I was in high school for some real bad people my parents used to deal with.
Other than that back to reality since you know about me.
Now I know why Nel always made us stay inside or when we go out it’s always somewhere private and closed off, he literally was the perfect guy until I just seen what I seen with my own eyes.
I scream “UGHHHH”. Then look at the pregnancy test again and throw it against my TV and let the tears fall.
What am I going to do I have a baby on the way, the man I love is married, I knew I shouldn’t have listened to Mary when she said give him a chance I had my foot down with being friends but noooo Mary says “ give the man a chance what worse can it get he isn’t married”.
I get a call from my team that we have a new case. I hurry and get dressed since I was just coming out the shower when I seen what was on my tv, I am now wearing a nice pair of dark blue jeans with a white button up shirt and I leave 2 buttons open at the top, I slip in my Red bottom heels and take a look at my hair to see it still straight so I put it in a sleek ponytail on the top of my head, I apply some mascara and red lipstick then some blush , while doing that I see the promise ring he gave me and take it off and leave it there.
I rub my necklace that my parents gave me before they passed and grab my bag with my keys and phone, wallet inside. I put my gun in my waist holster and put on my Red leather jacket and grab my black trench coat then head downstairs.
While walking downstairs I see all the memories we shared here and it makes me wanna break down but I just rub my stomach.
~Flashback
*DING*DONG
I look in the mirror and fix my hair, this is the first date me and Nel will have since knowing each other for about 4 months now.
I go answer my door and I see Nel standing there with some wine and flowers.
I smile and say” Cmon Nel”.
I just turn and walk to my kitchen to continue checking on the food.
From somewhere behind me Nel says
” These are your flowers”.
I look to see he got me my favorite blue Daisy’s, I take them from him and set them in the vase that’s on my counter then fill it up with water.
I say” these are beautiful thanks”.
By the time we finished dinner it was getting late and I was getting tired I said
” Okay I’m clocking out for the night”.
Nel says” okay I have my driver downstairs anyway”.
I gasp and smack his shoulder then giggle and say” why did you leave Benjamin down there you know his back gets cramped”.
I know I’m lying but I just want to mess with him I see Nel eyes get big and he says
” oh hell your right what if he has passed out look I better go”.
He hurries and comes to give me a hug then he give me a kiss on the lips I guess without thinking or instinct he then rushes out the door.

I just arrived to the department when I walk in Silver says” Well your glowing is it for me”.
I glare at him he always is flirting but I find it funny, I see Amanda walk in with her blonde hair curled over her shoulders and she is wearing a green suit.
Andy says” Look what the leprechaun dragged in”.
I stifle a laugh this is how it is always we make fun of each other and laugh with each other hell cry with each other this is my new family besides Mary.
I say” oh please you all know Tina here is”.
We all laugh at that because Tina dressed on Halloween as a leprechaun and she looked made for it.
I see Pete walk in and we all be quiet because we never know what type of day he is having.
He looks at us and says” well don’t stop because of me I hear you worms from down the hall”.
I see Joe walk in and he says” Okay here is your case for today”.
He then passes us each a folder then I say
” so far what have we got and how bad”.
Joe says” Well you know I hate this part but it’s bad”.
I sigh and I see him click the screen and it comes down so we can see the photos.
Joe says” As you can see in this picture it looks like there was a struggle due to the Glass being broken and the blanket with the sheet had been ripped off”.
I sigh and he clicks the next photo which is worse than the last Joe says” Now this is where it gets tricky I can’t tell if he went out back door or front because he left both open”.
He clicks another photo and I see it’s a Lady and I can’t tell any other thing because the body is unrecognizable .
I say” any survivors”.
Joe says” by the grace of god Lucy the girls best friend ran out the house while the attacker was worried about the victim”.
I sigh and say” so the unsub killed sister and took the girl while her best friend ran something doesn’t sound too right who called the police”.
Silver chooses to say” Well turns out we didn’t get a call until 1 hour later”.
I think about it and why would someone call a hour later I say” Do you think the best friend knows the unsub”.
Pete says” Okay we can figure it out on the plane to Texas wheels up in 20 minutes “.
I sigh and look at my stomach Tina catches on and raises her brow then I shrug.
