"i am not what you could call a religous person at all, and dont ever read anything with any context about god as a general rule, but this story, wow! it has moved me, and spoke to me. i love how you blended both parts of the story together, i wish it hadnt ended the way it did...i sense there is much much more to their story that has yet to be told, or at least im hoping im correct in that theory. i applaud you for this truely unique, and beautifully crafted work, and thanks so much for sharing it with us all. i look forward to reading more from you in the near future!"

BEAUTIFUL.

"yup, that is right. that is what it was-beautiful. when teddy was first introduced i thought it was something the killer halucinated or something of that sorts, i thought he was like those criminals who were phycotic and then when religion was intoduced i was like meh, now everythng is ruined but BUT BUTTTTTTTT as i read more, yo dude shit got better. it was sooo amazingly written ypu could feel the internal struggle of noth the characters actually every character. At the first chapter, i thought this is some rookie writing but bro later i realized how wellit suits the plot. this is how it is the killer or John Doe was actually just a shell so naturally he is suppose to feel distant and monotonous and hence the wrting style and as for the father, phew that requires a little bit explaining. bro ofcourse the same writng style would apply to him because ever since he had marcy he made her his anchor or something (as Janet said turned to Marcy than Jesus). he thought no matter what bad thing happens hewill always have Marcy which is the only thing he needs. ofcourse he was wrong and hence that monotonous weird wrting style applies to him as well. but in both their cases, as the killer finds his emotions and thoughts through marcy (as he calls it light) and the Mathew loses his daughter theres a turmoil within both of them and so the writing gets deeper. as they both reach the conclusion, naturally, there will this part of them that will doubt the answer because they were so used to being like that, that some part of them, their deeper self doesnt really want to change cause it is easier that way. Even though the answer both of them got was that they should only ever trust Jesus, i dont want people to call that lame and so i think the reason why Jesus(or god for that matter) is told to be taken as the only anchor is because he will keep you calm ; now whether you are a believer or not one will agree that to fight dire situations you gotta have a calm mind. another thing i liked was that faith doesn't offer a garranteed happy journey but rather a mind that can always be calm and peaceful. yes it is okay actually very human to be sad but doesnt mean you should never grow older. Another thing that touched me was how true and cruel our society is, if a person does something that is just something society disapproves of then they shun that person down as if that person doesnt have feelings. ofcourse it is tough to give chance to a murderer or a rapist and most times they dont even feel remorse to what they have done but that doesnt mean they should not be given a chance. this concept really resonated with me. God, to conclude i did not expect it to be a story that read me so well, that would resonate with me so well. this was my first read on inkitt and that just makes inkitt more special to me. i really want to apreciate the author and apllaud for the author. how well crafted this story was, i really respect you dear author. it was a beautiful story because of the conclusion, thank you for wrting this and helping so many of us. It is a thanks from the bottom of my heart, dear author. i hope you a great and the loveliest of the lovely day ahead. sayonara~~"

I Liked the Style

"Style is a very subjective thing, but I gravitated toward how this author wrote. Being first person, he nailed the staccato nature of one's thoughts. He slowly let the story evolve while abruptly changing gears. He gave out necessary information when it was called for, but he also didn't shy away from exposition that painted an overall picture. This was a dark piece, describing a world I would never want to explore but is horrifically fun to visit. What hurts this story might be the way Inkitt publishes their stories. It took me out of it to realize that character headings weren't simply two word paragraphs. The character's names, when switching perspectives, should probably be centered on the page, and probably would be if printed. The other thing I would adjust is the length of the chapters. While printed, I could earmark a character switch page, they seemed rather long on the screen. Overall, I really enjoyed this author's work, recommend him, and wish them luck in the future."

Creepy and (Overall) Enjoyable Story

"This story made me think of the early 80s horror film "The Pit." Similar gimmick, except this story is much trippier than the movie. I enjoyed the head-hopping between the two POV characters, although it would help the reading experience if the author divided up the chapters a little more. Still, the story was understandable overall, and there were more than a few moments that creeped me out."

"The Killer"

"A Serial Killer named Mathew Mills, who is told to kill children by Teddy..........which is a Teddy Bear, taking the persona as John Doe the killer, , has recently lost a son as his pregnant wife Janet miscarried. Mathews wife is distraught, depressed and has given up to the bed, in a bedroom draped in black curtains, darkness as her emotions. Mathew, is seeking Gods support, guidance, direction for his life and family, however the power of Teddy has caused John Doe to kill his baby Daughter, he loves so dearly, like the other children he has killed by suffocating them with plastic bags....... The Story is lost in the soul of Mathew. When he is Mathew, not John Doe, he is loving and kind, but is still damaged from his fathers mistreatment when he was a child, thus shooting his father in the back with two bullets from his gun.......The killings began............the writing style has slowed the story by separating the two personas, Mathew/John Doe. Perhaps a blending of the characters would solve that problem, along with editing the story before submission for errors in grammar and some punctuation errors.. minor issues. It was difficult to. identify the plot. The Story was of the killer, past and now present.........the plot, the ending.........."
