Prologue
I awoke with a strange feeling way down in the pit of my stomach, something was off. I rolled over and looked at the time on my new IPhone. I froze after I checked the time, Wait, when did I get this? I sat up to roll back over and found Clay at the foot of my bed. I screamed while moving toward the head of my bed. “God damn you, Clay!” I yelled throwing a pillow at him.
Pheobie, Leo, and Dante ran in, “What’s wrong?” Pheobie asked.
“Why did you scream?” Dante inquired.
“Nothing’s wrong. I’m fine, Clay just scared me.” I stated getting off my bed.
Pheobie sighed, “Well, meet us downstairs for breakfast, we need to discuss something, something about Roxi.” I nodded and she walked out of my room.
I reached over my bed and grabbed my new IPhone, “When and how did I get this?”
Clay raised his hand, “From me!” He sounded happy, “I got it for you, I got everyone something. The rest of you are going to get your stuff at breakfast.” He finished while quickly getting out of my room.
Dante looked me up and down, looking at the PJ’s Clay had bought me before we got here. “I presume you’d like to change before you go down to breakfast?”
“Yes, please.” I said walking over to my closet.
Dante nodded and left the room, which only left me and Leo, “Long time, no see.” He stated sitting on my messy bed.
“I know right.” I look at him with a hint of a sad face, “I miss holding your hand.” I placed my American Fighter shirt on the bed with my dark BKE jeans.
“I miss that, too. I also miss your tiny frame being in my arms, your kisses, being able to lay with you and stare into your sapphire eyes.” His mud-brown eyes stared deep into mine.
I could feel a pull toward him. Almost every being in my body urged me to kiss him, to hold him like we used to, but the fact that I can’t tough anybody stops me. I sighed, “This is probably going to kill me before me toughing someone does.”
Leo chuckled and I laughed, “This is killing me as much as it’s killing you, baby girl. You’re not alone.”
I sighed and grabbed my American Fighter shirt, I looked at him staring at me, “Don’t watch me change.”
He chuckled, shook his head and looked the other way. I turned around and striped off my night shirt. I couldn’t see behind me but I could feel his eyes on my back, “Quit watching me change.” I stated while putting my shirt on my arms to put over my head.
“Wait.” Leo grabbed my shirt on my arms, “What did you do to your back?”
My eyebrows pulled together while I tried to look at him, “What do you mean?”
“There’s a big scar across your back. Right along here,” He gently dragged his finger diagonally across my back, sending a chill down my spine.
“I… I don’t know.” Panic started to run through my veins, “Pheobie! Clay!”
They were both in my room in a matter of seconds, Pheobie had one of her swords in her hand, “What’s wrong? Are you hurt? Did HE hurt you?” Pheobie asked the series of questions as she crossed my room, threw Leo into one of my bedposts and held her sword to his throat.
“No! He didn’t hurt me.” I said quickly, grabbing Pheobie’s hand and slowly took her hand with the sword in it away from Leo’s neck.
Pheobie was in a relaxed stance, “Then what’s wrong?”
I turned around, “Do you either of you know how I got this?”
Pheobie started to reach for the scar, but stopped, “I have no idea, Ash.”
“But, I do.” Clay stated, “And may I say, you are a VERY heavy sleeper.”
I pulled my shirt over my head, “What do you mean?”
“I fixed your problem.” A smile grew rather quickly onto his face, “You are now healed.”
My face showed how shocked I was, “Really? How’d you do it without burning yourself?”
“Draegon helped me. I had him do everything that involved touching you in an appropriate way.” He explained, “I had him roll you over, I had him lift up your shirt. After I was finished, he placed the bandage on you, pull your shirt down and roll you back over.”
“Well, why didn’t she have on a bandage when I was watching her change?” Leo inquired.
“You did WHAT?!” Pheobie gave me and him both a questionable glare. I just laughed and Leo cringed.
Clay gave him a look that told him to have patience, “I was getting there, pretty boy.”
“Pretty boy?” Leo quietly asked us as Clay walked over to my clock so he can see it better. I shrugged and Pheobie laughed.
“About four hours ago, I took off her bandage and it looked like that. The only reason why it hasn’t healed quicker is because I had to cut deep when I cut you open. And yes, Leo, I call you ‘Pretty boy’.”
I was shocked, “You cut me open?!”
“Yea, that’s the only way I know how to fix you.” Clay replied.
“Is that the only way anybody knows how to fix me?” I asked looking around at everyone.
The sound of footsteps running came from the hallway. Draegon and James stopped at my door, I flung my shirt on quickly. James was out of breath, so Draegon spoke, “Roxi’s gone.”
