If you’re not into seeing visual characters, have no fear.

These are character descriptions of what/how I imagined the characters to look like. If you’d like to meet them during the story then skip freely. If you’d like a somewhat detailed mental sketch then proceed.

MAIN CHARACTERS:

Chelly:

Chelly Morgan is a mixed character whose features include: light brown skin, dark brown eyes, black hair, tall figure that isn’t thick but isn’t slim either, biggish hands and feet for a girl. Her eye placement and size as well as other facial features are all up to the reader. Her ears aren’t too big but they’re angled slightly outward. She’s had a rough childhood that makes her question everything even though she knows better and is working towards better. She’s awkward yet normal, friendly yet cautious, angry yet unwilling to act out. She is a middle child.

Ruby:

Rubina Edwards is a dark skinned character who usually acts as the groups’ leader at times. She sports her afro when she feels like or she lets her hair down via braids. Her forehead is medium sized, lips naturally perky, nose just right, eyes are dark brown, ears aren’t big or usually visual from a front view, has deep dimples, body type more in the thick pear shaped zone (she has a curvy figure...usually associated with the pear shape) and she is taller than the other two girls in the group (Chelly and Gia).

Gia:

Sophia Lee exudes confidence, playfulness, openness, crazy ideas and just...bubbles if you think about it. She has a heart shaped face that’s roundish and leaves her with chubby cheeks that are dimpled. Her hair is a dark brown that can be mistaken for dark red if she stands in the light. Her eyes are light blue, skin white but she has several freckles. She is short, imagined to be about five feet...two inches. She dresses girly but she isn’t fully there.

Jed:

Jedediah Blumbard is the single guy in a group with three girls. He’s a bit taller than the six foot tall Ruby but he allows her to believe she’s taller because he’s just that kind of guy. He has a caramel brown complexion with dark brown hair that is highlighted with similar colour ends as his skintone. He dyes it other colours, yes, but it comes this way naturally which usually makes everyone think that he’s monotone once his hair is out. His eyes are brown, hair both wavy and curly, his jaw somewhat square, his body toned from walking to school everyday and assisting with errands for the local church, supermarket and post office. He’s well rounded and looking to move out of his hometown after high-school, though, he’s never told anyone.

Jordan:

Chelly’s cousin and personal motivator, Jordan, is something of a mischief maker who’s not seen as trouble. He hangs with the right crowds, helps out at home, runs for any election that comes up as though he isn’t doing enough, never opposes authority but manages to get everything and almost anything he wants with everyone feeling safe and trusting of him always. His parents are both white so he is, of course, white but he turns peachy when emotional. Brown-blonde neat hair, blue eyes, longish-boyish face, winning smile, broad shoulders and tall stature, he seems like the kind of guy you’d vote for.

Parker:

One of Jordan’s closest friends that sometimes stays over and blends into the house of kids easily. He is the same height as Jordan but is paler with light brown hair that always reached his neck, a hoop earring in both ears, broad shoulders that are a bit less built and the same colour eyes as Jordan They could pass as twins but only when they’re both really emotional or really sweaty since they turn the same shades of red. He is a supporter all the way to anyone he cares about.

Kaleb:

Dark skinned with sharp features, Kaleb stands an inch taller than Jordan at six feet four inches. He’s suited for a model and has a charming smile which places him at the same popularity level as Jordan within both the school and the community. He’s not shy or easily outwitted but unlike Jordan’s forward approaches and constant interactions, Kaleb tends to be indirect while getting the job done. He’s admired and respected more than liked.

Courtney:

Kaleb’s closest companion that outsiders assume is his girlfriend when in reality, their relationship is simple. She has a lighter skin tone than him but still in the chocolate brown range. She shares his features but in softer tones. Her smile is less charming and more charismatic making her easily trusting but her personality can range from harsh to sweet depending on her very first interaction with anyone.
