Meeting Johnny
This is a story that starts in a room with no way out. In this room sits a girl all by herself working away on a control panel. She flips switches and watches a screen as a vision plays. She happily does it till one day…
–OUTSIDE THE BODY–
…: I’ll pay you. Just take it off already
+: I don’t want to. I can’t wait to get older! My husband will treat me better
The man wraps his hands around the girl’s throat, pushing her against the wall. Her eyes tear up as the oxygen is cut off from her.
–INSIDE THE BODY–
The girl who once was playing with the panel freezes. She is scared that this is it for her. She was falling to her knees While crying softly whispering one word.
Myra: Help
Behind her, a door appears, and in walks a young man with a woman holding his hand. The woman sits beside the girl while the man walks towards the panel.
He taps on the side of a switch before pushing a button and flicking a switch. The girl watches as he steps back and watches the screen. He watches as the screen goes from staring at the attacker to running away to a room closing the door. The man turns to the two ladies and bows.
Suddenly the woman sitting with the girl vanishes like a ghost and the man plays with a ring on his necklace. While speaking.
Stanger: My name is Johnny, I am here to help. It will be okay from here on out.
Johnny then turns to the screen pressing a button and the screen goes dark. He walks over to the girl and helps her up.
Johnny: May I perhaps know your name?
Myra: M-My name is Myra
Johnny: Myra we have a long way to go from here. Follow my lead and I will never lead you astray.
Johnny walks holding Myra’s shoulder leading her through a second door.
Myra: where did you come from? What is this door doing here? Where are we?!?!?
Johnny, seeing the panic in Myra calmly sits her on a couch in a place that looks like a living room.
Johnny: this is where you and I will rest while the body is in sleep mode
As he explains he points to two separate doors that appeared across the way from them. Their names burned into the door with a little bit of a sizzling sound. At first, there is a look of amazement on her face but then she quickly shifts herself from Johnny.
He notices and stands walking towards the door with his name on it.
Johnny: The room is to your desire, no one is allowed in without your permission. You are safe here.
Myra looks at him skeptically, he sighs and tries to open her door but the knob disappears and he stands back showing her. Slowly she walks to her room and the door opens for her. Before the door closes she hears him say something.
Johnny: You are always welcome to come to my room when you need to. It is always a safe spot. For all women in my life. No, in our life.
Myra smiles before crying and the room changes, filling with teddy bears, the wall grows a window that shows rain outside and the bed in the center of the room has a canopy that is black. The room lights are dim and music begins to play. Soft tunes that make Myra feel a bit calmer.
She feels the warmth and safety that fills this room. The room that belongs to her.
She looks at the wall that connects her and Johnny’s room and wonders Who he is, why would he help her, and how to work with him? As she crawls into bed with these thoughts she drifts to a dreamless sleep.
