"Anna!"
I rolled my eyes as I applied the last dust of blush to my cheeks. My skin was naturally pale, and even if it wasn't, I had become too accustomed to using makeup to ever go as far as the John Glenn international airport without it.
I wasn't sure why we even needed to go the airport, since as far as I know, none of our relatives were coming over from overseas.
Cain had insisted I come with he and his girlfriend, Lily, but I really can't be rushed.
"I am coming, Cain!"
"You've been saying that for the past two hours!"
I rolled my eyes again and stood up from the dresser. My hair was up in a high ponytail, the ends painted in a dark purple hue.
'Purple is magical on you...'
I closed my eyes, and took in a deep breath. "Get out of my head. You don't belong there anymore."
I turned around, leaving the room.
Cain and Lily were waiting downstairs, and I immediately joined them. Lily rolled her eyes at me.
"I am not sure why you look so dolled up."
I didn't reply, knowing she had no negative intentions. She was just pretty bad mouthed and sometimes even dumb. But she was, overall a sweet person and I liked her with Cain. He looked happy. Almost like how I used to be.
Cain drove to the airport, amidst blasting music that was probably their thing, seeing how they fell into sync. I sighed and looked out of the window, my eyes closing.
I tucked my hand into the pockets of the large palazzo pants I was wearing. I had paired the black trousers with dark purple long sleeved shirt, whose neckline reached just below my neck, but didn't go all the way.
We waited for close to thirty minutes, before Cain suddenly straightened, catching sight of whoever we had come to pick up. Apparently, this person would be living with us for the first week of his arrival, before his place is put in order. I wondered why they didn't put it in order from the very beginning.
I swallowed, and turned, my eyes catching sight of the person Cain was frantically waving at.
I could feel the color, including the blush I had wasted so much time putting on drain from my face, my heart beat picking up.
He was tall, exactly six feet two, I knew that number like it was engraved in the back of my mind. Everyone asked why my favorite number was sixty two.
This is why.
He had on a careless out of bed hair, his dark brown hair, full, and shiny. I swallowed as he looked up from his phone and found us. He broke into a smile, and his dimples sucked in, his pale pink lips stretching beautifully.
I could feel hot tears stinging the back of my eyes as he brought the phone to his ear, then continued to walk with us.
"Are you not surprised, Anna? I kept it as a surprise because you seemed pretty devastated when he left," Cain said, but I couldn't reply.
I looked up again as he got to us, his smile big, his bright blue eyes slightly shielded by the crinkling of his eyes.
It's been four years since I last saw him, and weirdly enough, it feels like just yesterday.
I swallowed as he walked up to us, his eyes scanning mine.
"Ann."
I loved how my name rolled off his tongue, the way he called me Ann.
"Logan. Nice to see you again." I swallowed, my fists clenching.
He smiled, his dimples sinking in again. He had gotten a little paler, his lashes long and beautiful. I wanted to curl up into him and tell him how much I have missed him, but I stayed there, watching him as he hugged my brother.
I swallowed as he looked back to me again.
"You look...better. Been a pretty good four years, right?"
I swallowed. Yes, and I missed you throughout. But those were not words I wanted to say or could. Besides, it wasn't just us alone. It wasn't the little moments we stole, just us two. On the roof, in the balcony.
It wasn't the times he had promised to stay with me forever.
Because we broke up. No, he broke up with me. He didn't want me anymore and he had gone. Just like that.
I swallowed hard, blinking furiously.
"Sure, Logan. I bet it was good for you, too?
He nodded. "I can't complain. It's nice being back home."
My brother started to walk ahead of us, chanting about how he missed him and Logan slowly leaned into me, causing my breath to stop in my throat. Adrenaline coursed through me hard and fast, weakening my knees.
He only moved slowly, then turned his face to me and placed a small, sinful kiss on my neck, his hand holding the small of my waist.
"Missed me, Ann?"
I swallowed and turned to him, meeting his eyes as he leaned away, then broke into another one of his charming smiles. But this one had a bit of meaning to it, and I found my heart running out towards him. To get a bit of what he used to make me feel.
I swallowed, as he pulled his trolley, then fell into step with my brother. He had remained as beautiful as ever, his cologne the same, his hair long and beautiful, the slight scent of musky vanilla reaching my nostrils.
Above all, he had stayed a little sinful to me.
My brother's best friend.
