Contest Terms

• Please note that stories published to Inkitt prior to the contest start date are not eligible for entry as stories must be new to Inkitt during the contest. The Submit Past Enries button will only work for stories where the first chapter was published after the contest started.
• The contest will run from May 13th to June 30th, 2024. All submissions received by this date will be counted as contest submissions.
• The winners will be announced within the following 3 weeks on Inkitt's social media channels and on Inkitt.com.
• Entering the contest is free; all you need to do is start writing your book on Inkitt and submit it on the contest page.
• You do not need to wait to have a completed story before you submit it to the contest. Works in progress are encouraged, but just make sure they are completed by the time the contest comes to an end.
• Stories must be brand new to Inkitt in order to enter. Previously written works are not allowed.
• The minimum word count per submission is 5,000 words by the contest end date. There is no maximum word limit.
• Stories must be original works. No plagiarism will be tolerated.
• Entries part of a series that have been signed to or published on Galatea are not eligible to enter.
• Stories behind a paid tier under the Subscription program are not eligible to enter. If you publish a free version of your story, it MUST receive updates -- you cannot just submit the minimum word count for the contest and then make people subscribe to the other version.
• Stories must be written in the Romance genre. Non-fiction, fan-fiction, and poetry are not eligible.
• Stories featuring werewolves and other shifters are not allowed.
• Winners will be chosen by the popularity and binge-ability of their stories, taking into account a variety of reader behaviors.
• Authors cannot enter a contest more than once with the same story, but an author may submit as many books as they want. If authors submit multiple entries, only one of them can win.
• This contest is for English entries only.
