Refreshing Take on Shifter Stories

"The Fox's Tale" by Emily Conover is a refreshing take on the popular shifter romance genre. Alexander is a fox shifter, and the book is told entirely from his POV. He takes you an a rollercoaster journey, where you root for him and also want to punch him in the face at times for being so dense. It is filled with twists and turns and things that make you go "WHAT?!" in the best way possible. You root for the main characters and despise the bad ones. The plot is well developed and the grammar and spelling are top notch, with only a few minor mistakes that in no way affect the overall reading experience. I cannot wait for the next installment of this book.

The Viking's Mate Hunt

The plot is great. The author drops you right into the action from the get go, so you learn about the world while getting to some of the action quickly. English is not the author's first language, but the small grammar/spelling issues don't detract from the story and the overall writing, as those are things that can easily be fixed with a solid editor/proofreader. I am very much enjoying this mesh of Viking and werewolf lore, and I can't wait for more.
