Amazing, Amazing, Amazing -- The Real Evie Chase
I don't want to give away too many spoilers, but this is one of my favorite books I've ever read. Everything about it was simply amazing. The plot was fun and captivating. But it was also super moving, and being honest, I teared up in a few spots. The characters were perfectly imperfect and relatable. I loved every single one of them to death. Everyone seemed so real. There are some great messages here about family and friendship and learning to love and accept yourself. There's twists that you don't see coming and suspense and mystery you wouldn't expect in a YA romance. At first, the plot seems like it'll be out-there and could be corny, but all of it is just done so well. The author did such a great job.

This book also deals really well with mental illness. I commend the author for doing her research, or maybe even speaking from personal experience. I don't know, either way, from my OWN personal experience, it was spot on and done really well. Evie is lovable and frustrating but understandably so, and that's why I love her so much. She's been through a lot, and she's just trying to figure herself out. But she's strong in a different kind of way. She's one of my favorites YA heroines -- even next to amazing more conventional ideas of a YA heroine in Katniss from THG who I also love. Evie has a different kind of strength and will be a great role model for younger readers.
Her relationship with Adam is a massive highlight for me. Their friendship just reads so natural with the way they speak and act, it's almost scary how real it seems. It's like you just know them personally.
Adam is also a great character. The perfect sweet and swoon-worthy book boyfriend. I'm happy there's going to be more books now because I'd love to learn more about him.
I could go on for days about how great each character is. From all the adults to Evie's sisters and Evie's friends, I want to learn so much about all of them.
Someone in another review mentioned that if this was a TV serial they'd totally watch it and I'm down! This would be a fantastic series.
Overall, this book deserves all the stars. I look forward to the next books in the series.
