Loved it!

In the beginning, I thought that this story was going to be very easily read. And I mean predictable. Vampire stories are often that way, but not so much with this one. I will admit the first three chapters were new and exciting. The next two chapters set the scene, and chapters five and six damn near bored me. But I kept moving, and I am so glad that I did.
Two generations of three different families made for a very entertaining read. The author made it a point to divide the book into separate point of views so it would be easy to follow. Though, it took at least two paragraphs to grasp who was speaking. I would suggest actually naming each part after the character so no one is confused. Sebastian is ruthless in his love for Seraphine. Seraphine is hell bent on pleasing her father, regardless of her feelings. We all know that this is a recipe for disaster. Continue to read and let the disaster play out. I promise you will love it.
The ending happens a few chapters before it actually does. Basically, you see it coming. But all in all a very well written story.
Aside from the story, both the grammar and punctuation need work in lots of places. Work with an editor, and you will have a winner. Loved your work and will praise it.

Great Start

From what I read so far, I really liked. It is dark and twisted, and I enjoy that combination in a book. I can't give it 5 stars because it is incomplete. But from what I read, I enjoyed.

Incredible!

Cold Comfort was a total surprise. I didn’t expect to be sucked in right from the beginning, but I was. I didn’t expect the writing style to be so fluid, but it was. I did however expect the punctuation and grammar to be just a bit off, and to my surprise, it wasn’t!
The story is filled with lots of action so it moves right along. The characters are well written. So much so, I felt like I was hanging out with them. Ben wasn’t a hard nose PI, but he knew his stuff. Sara, his woman, did annoy me a couple times, but I eventually got over it. If I had to say who my favorite character was, by far it was T.J.
Just by reading this book, one can tell that the author is well read, has seen lots of movies, and done a lot of research to write this book. If that is not the case, then I would be inclined to believe that the author was or is a PI/former cop himself. Kudos if all of this is research, because I can tell a lot went into it.
Long story short, this is definitely one of the best books I have read on Inkitt, and I will put this one on my short list of recommendations. I have read quite a few books here, and I try to review all of them, good or bad.
This is one of the great ones. Congrats, and thanks for the awesome read.

Predictable, but loved it anyway

First, I will say that I cranked this one out in about 3 days (I read on my morning and evening, very long commute). In the beginning, the plot started off as something I haven't read before, which forced me to keep reading. I loved the beginning chapters because it was dark and pretty close to something I would write. Basically, it was real. I could totally see Camille doing the things that she did to the Hightower brothers. It was sad and tragic (my kinda thing).
Camille's fight to hold on to the past was great in the beginning and made for some good storytelling. Her niece and her daughter were great for comic relief. Typical modern day teenagers. So much fun, so smart, and so complicated all at the same time.
Kyle comes on the scene after 15 years and well, things started becoming a little predictable at that point. Tonia, the introduction of two gangsters, I already knew where this was going. As far as Tonia is concerned, I would have changed her end all together (again, my kinda thing). The supporting characters play their parts well, though I think a particular back story should come way earlier in the book. Not sure when, but by the time it does show up, I moved right past it. I didn't care.
The author seems to live in the same part of the country that I do, so I was very excited to see familiar things and places in the story. It totally made me smile every single time.
Well written with a few missed words, and periods. The slight twist in the end was predictable, but enjoyable. I really liked it. I would recommend this read to a mature audience that really knows what it is to love someone. I would recommend this story to siblings who are extremely close.

Five stars for Selena

This was a very good story. However, one of the characters just really got on my nerves. I am not sure if the author intended the character to be that way, but she was insanely annoying.

I was happy that particular character didn't have too many scenes or I wouldn't have been able to finish the book. The main character, however, I really liked. There are some bits of dialog that are repeated in back to back paragraphs, only written slightly different. Didn't notice it until the one character that annoyed me just kept going on and on. Ugh! I digress.

This historical fiction romance is well written (you know it is because of my feelings towards one character). John's books generally are well written, and yes, this is the third one of his I have read. If you are a fan of historical fiction, he is a good author to read.

In the beginning of the book, I would have loved to see more interaction between the main character and his brother, but that is not what the story is about, and I understand that. For the brothers to be twins, I guess I was just expecting a bit more interaction between them, but again, that is not what the story is about.

I literally only caught a few missed periods, and that's it as far as grammar and punctuation go. Because the author is so good at it, anything missing stands out like a sore thumb. But like I said only a few missed periods. Everything else, dare I say, perfect.

The story is an awesome read. You will be curious about what is going to happen, then cheer for the main character when he returns from his journey. The last few chapters of the book will make you want to know how it is going to turn out. I'm not going to say anything other than, read it, and find out.

Now, I am on to the next John Sutherland novel. Hopefully I will be just as entertained as I have been with the three I have read.

Holy Cow

As far as content is concerned, I will say one word. WOW! This author totally captured my attention from prologue to epilogue. The research as well as personal experience that went into writing William's first novel was great. First novel, yes, I did say that. This book is well worth reading. I loved it. Honestly, when I got to the end, I found myself wondering about more adventures with William and his little family. That is up to the author, but I would love to see some more, even just a little.
That being said, there are some serious grammatical errors that need to be addressed. One of them being the ending seems a bit rushed. Once these are corrected, this story will be a contender. Read William Jordan, an Assassin's Tale. I am absolutely certain you will enjoy it.

Hooray for James and Harriet!

I became interested in this book because it was written by a man. I thought no way could a guy write romance. Well, I was proven wrong. I loved the innocence of Harriet and the patience of James. The author writes with such elegance and his characters just come to life. They are very well defined, so it makes it easy to fall into the pages of this novel. The descriptions of the scenes will put you there if you allow yourself to go.
Harriet's innocence is endearing. I think between her and James, she is definitely my favorite. I would have loved to know more about James' mother and sister. Mrs. Ward seemed to be a woman who loved her children, knew what they were capable of, and wouldn't waste anytime chastising them if they were in the wrong. It was refreshing to meet James' mother. I liked her. This is an amazing story of innocent love that just doesn't happen in this time.
In some chapters, thoughts, or spoken dialog repeats itself. Almost like the author was reiterating what was already said. I'm not sure why that was, but it was only a minor inconvenience as I wanted to move along with what was going to happen next. But if you want to travel back in time where women were polite and demure, and men were gentlemen all of the time, read The Belvedere. Fantastic work.

Good Read

Well, I will say this. It was a good book, that kept me engaged. I don’t mind the genre because really, if the book is good, I will read just about anything. However, for me there were some parts that seemed disjointed. Almost like an original thought started and was completed, but there was no lead into the next scene sometimes. But for the most part the story had a good flow. All the characters are likable. Though I wish I would have gotten to know more about Barney. The punctuation and grammar was good, with nothing standing out that hinders the reading of this book. All in all, it is a pretty good read, and I enjoyed it.

Exciting and thrilling! Asa is sexy, and Rory is innocent. I love their relationship. Sora comes off as a complete playful asshole until later when you find out he is up to something. Can't wait to see what that is.
The writing style flows well though there are a few punctuation mistakes. They don't take away from the story. I am going to put this one in my collection of Works in Progress so I can finish it. I so look forward to it.
Great job!

Very Surpised!

Warning: This review is totally opinionated. Read at your own risk.
I picked this book from the “Tease Me” tab on my app. I promise I passed it by like twenty times because the synopsis is way too simple. It doesn’t give anything away. Actually it doesn’t give much at all. But willing to take a shot on the title alone, I downloaded it.
This is a story about fame. The struggle to become famous. The struggle to stay famous. What happens after the fame is gone. This is a story about love. The love between a mother and daughter. The love between five friends. The love between a man and a woman.
This story is written well, but could use just a bit of help from an editor. I promise the plot is good, though I had some doubts about five chapters in. Yet, I pressed on. Perion (very unusual name, I know), is the lead singer of a four woman band formed while she was still a teenager. A boy Perion hardly knew named Blaine hears them. Blaine was smart enough to know the young girls had talent, and makes himself their manager. The story takes off from there.
Pacing sometimes gets in the way early on. Though later, you learn that Perion and her friends young lives don’t make the story. The only significance to their hometown is, it is a place Perion can escape to when necessary.
Perion meets her teenage idol, Lein, and things take off. Lein and Perion’s relationship is explosive, though not in the beginning. I will ask you this question. Have you ever wished that you had someone to love you no matter what? There are times in this book that you will want to slap Perion. Well, many times actually. Lein loves her almost unconditionally. Almost unheard of in man woman relationships (totally another subject I won’t go into). Perion does some self-destructive things, but still Lein sticks by her. That I loved about the story.
I will say that I was excited, hopeful, angry, sad, and just utterly pissed off all throughout the book. Sometimes I was confused because of the author needing an editor. But that was far and few between.
The synopsis of this book is, “The story of a fledgling rock band, and the hand fate deals them.” Would you read that? Normally, I wouldn’t, but again the title is what saved it for me. I had no idea what to expect. I will be honest and say that I didn’t expect to finish this book.
The author needs to get serious with their talent, and put their real name on this one. Aside from some simple grammatical errors, and a few brackets and parenthesis where they didn’t have any business being, this is a fantastic story. Read it, and see if you agree. No doubt, you will.

Don’t Fall In

Game of Thrones Fan? My guess is yes. Only a true fan would recognize another. In my many years, only in the popular series, I have heard the Finance director, or the equivalent referred to as the master of coins. Yet grammatically, the author didn’t get it right. Master of coins shouldn’t be master of coins, but Master of Coin. Proper nouns need to be capitalized.
There are plenty of proper nouns that are not correct in this book. Twenty nine reviews so far and everyone of you have missed this. A title given to any person should be capitalized. So how the author has a five star review on grammar and punctuation alone has me shaking my head at the future novelists of our age. Holy cow did you all fail grammar or did you not care? My guess is you didn’t care. Because if you did, you would realize that to help your friend (virtual or otherwise) you would give them the truth and not do them a favor. In this case a favor is not helping. I will not get on my high horse as this is not the time to do so. Let’s get on with the review.
First, the characters are flat. Totally two dimensional. In a story told in first person, there needs to be more dialog to understand the characters around the main character, or I need to really feel what…what…Holy cow. Um Eleanor. I think is her name. I really need to feel what Eleanor is feeling. I might have the spelling of her name wrong, but hey, the story is great right! Not really.
I am on chapter fourteen, and yeah, I have thought of giving up quite a few times, but curiosity more than anything is keeping me going. So I keep going…
Tense is all over the place. Past and present, can be seen in literally one sentence. If the author is not a natural English speaker, I will give grace to that, since English is hard to learn. But a natural English speaker, there is no excuse. If the author is a natural English speaker, well…
I opened the chapter list (as I always do) to find that not only do the chapters have a number, but a title as well. e.g. Chapter 28: A kiss of Truth. That is great. Give your readers some sense of where your story is headed. But get to chapter 29, and the two most important things go missing.
The Calm Before Storm, should be, Chapter 29: The Calm Before Storm. Not to mention, Chapter 28 should be titled, A Kiss of Truth.
Holy cow, there are so many grammatical errors in this work, that it the punctuation and grammar should be rated no higher than three stars. But because the author has an intense following, they will do anything they can to help their friend succeed (I am older, and will never understand this).
You need an editor in the worst way sweets. Your plot is good, but your inexperience shows. If you ever want to sell a story, you need to pull away from the people who will praise you because they like you, and find someone who will give you honesty.
In this business, that is it and that is all.

Pretty Good

Good, but could be better. Pacing could stand a little slowing down in some places, and the Point of View goes from first person to third person without section breaks. Though I caught on to what was going on between POV right away, section breaks would help the reader.
I did enjoy the story, though.

Brilliant

Absolutely and by far one of the best stories I have read on Inkitt in the past month. As with all of us amateur authors, there are things that need to be taken care of as far as grammar and punctuation, but in the end, brilliant.
I’m not even sure of the amount of research that went into writing this book, but is was so detailed, it made you wonder if the author wasn’t the Theif-In-Law is a previous life.
The five main characters are likeable and all very good at what they do. That is what made this book so fun to read. The pacing is fast, which provides great intensity, but in some places, it’s almost too fast.
The author drops new characters in at a pace that you have no idea who they are. I will be honest and say at least 3 of the characters I still had no idea who they were by the time I was finished reading.
But all in all, this is a good read. Just needs a little bit of work, and I loved it.

Refreshing

The title of the book had me thinking I was about to read some fantasy romance. Not so much. It is very much fantasy adventure, which it fine. The book reminded me of something C. S. Lewis would write. Young children on an amazing adventure. I did find that it was an amazing adventure. The girls fall into paintings in order to find out what happened to their grandmother. I am kind of bummed that I have to wait for the next one to find out.
It was an enjoyable story, though I did have a problem with the girls ages. It just seemed at times that they should be a little older (especially Sophia). For some reason, Ms. Plumlee just annoyed me. Yes, she was doing her job, but she rubbed me the wrong way for some reason.
Secrets is a well thought out YA or Children's book with very few fixable grammar and punctuation errors. It is not something that I would normally read (I like my fantasy just a bit darker), but it was light and refreshing.
Let's see what book two brings, shall we?

Yay for Dominic!

Cost of Revenge is a fast-paced whirlwind novel that is very hard to put down. A lot longer than most of the novels on Inkitt, but still worth every page. The fight scenes are very well detailed, all the characters are very well defined. I was in love with Dominic from the beginning. It was very easy to see how Dominic and Cassidy felt about one another right from the start. The question was, after they separated, was either one of them going to be able to admit it.
As far as the technical, I noticed a few missing words, and maybe a missed period. The pacing in some places is so fast, that sometimes scene transitions mesh together. I had to go back and re-read quite a few times. Perhaps the author should read this book as a reader, to see what I am talking about. The ending didn’t turn out the way I would have liked, but still in all a well thought out story, and I enjoyed it.

Dang it! Need More!

I usually stray away from YA fiction because usually they are stories about giggly high school girls all attracted to the bad boy in school until one of them lands him. Then he proceeds to treat her badly and in the end she somehow changes him. Yup, done to death. However, Hleo was none of that (except for the high school girl part).

It is a very well written story with a very unique story line. It isn't often that a story grips me to the point that I can't put my phone down even at work. This was one of those stories that I sat at my desk and scrolled along as I was working.

Hannah is a very likeable, strong, character. She goes along in life as if she were much older than her years suggested, and I think that is why I actually connected with her. Her emotions just jumped right off of the screen, and I felt everything she felt.

Ethan is a man of mystery. For me, that was most of his appeal. You could also tell that he was fighting with his emotions for almost the entire book.

The supporting characters were also well written, and those closest to Hannah were fleshed out enough so they fit perfectly with the flow of the story. I did want Hannah to have more interaction with her father (maybe that will be in the next book).

There weren't any punctuation errors that I saw, but some of the paragraphs were just too long. In some places, the tense was off, and I had to go back and read a sentence or two to ensure I was not reading about anything that happened in the recent past. But I pressed on because I was dying to see what was going to happen next.

Read this one folks. I cranked through this one in two days, and it left me with a good feeling, and screaming for more. Loved it!

Cedric is my boo!

The plot has been done to death. Sexy, powerful man ends up with a mild meek young girl. They end up falling in love. However, it is all about the execution. Cedric has a very demeaning name for the woman he has chosen, but it is kinda sexy at the same time. I'm not sure if the relationship between Cedric and Angeline should have been expanded a bit, because at times it feels a bit rushed. Perhaps Cedric's back story should be just a bit closer to the front of the book, but it works if the author wanted to keep us reading to eventually find that out.
I did have an issue with Vladimir. I am not going to say what it was so as not to spoil it for others, but Vladimir's story is very familiar.
All in all, this was an amazing story. Read and enjoy.

Vestige

First let me say that I am a real reader. I read books like I listen to music. In my music library, you will find Chopin, Meatloaf, Marilyn Manson, Michael Jackson, Duke Ellington…You get what I am trying to say. I read books like I listen to music. Drama, Fantasy, Romance, Action…Whatever it may be, but all that matters to me is that I am entertained. No matter the genre, if the book is good, I will read it.
Here on Inkitt, I have found good stories that need a little work, I have found those who need lots of work, and yes, there is some real garbage out there (that is my own opinion).
Let's get to it, shall we?
Vestige. What does the word even mean? Merriam-Webster gives two definitions. Look it up. LOL!
The story starts out exciting enough, you have no idea what is really going on, but you keep reading because the author wants you to. The monsters…the cure…What the heck is the author talking about? You read on, hoping to gain some answers.
I went through all thirty-three current chapters enjoying them the whole time. Shep is a mystery. Though now knowing his connection with Aurelia, his mystery is slightly less as far as his personal connection is concerned. Still would like to know what his true abilities are. We get that he is strong, but need more.
Hate that a main character dies before we really get to understand his role and his feelings towards his peeps.
I could go on for days about this story, but I will not ruin it for everyone.

Thirty-three chapters of greatness. The occasional (and so slight if you are in the story you will miss it, occasional) grammatical error is there. There is a disconnect in the beginning between past and present. But it does not take away from the story.

I now sit and wait until Kassidy figures out where she wants to go with this. Thirty-three chapters of OMG! Then silence.

Amazing story, could use some grammatical fixes, but loved it nonetheless.

Reminded me of a few stories

The Hunter Series - Penelope reminded me of several books that I have read. One being a series that I read on Wattpad. It was a good book, but it needs to be fleshed out. There are things that I would have liked to see happen. Mainly the relationship between Issac and Penelope. Since Issac is her soul mate, there should be a connection that we as readers must feel. Their relationship was rushed, as were so many other things. Though Penelope is twenty-one, some of her dialog and relationships come across as she was a teenager. I had to keep reminding myself that she was twenty-one. Eleanor was a character that needed to be fleshed out. There is an extreme disconnect between her in the beginning of the book, and her in the end of the book. Without giving anything away, her change should have been a little more gradual.
The grammar and punctuation was good with the exception of an occasional missing word.
Overall I enjoyed the book, just wish it was a little longer.

Too Easy!

The fifth John Sutherland novel that I read was set in modern day. I was excited. John is a very good story teller, and I was looking forward to something totally different from his period pieces. Though the story is readable and very easy to follow, there were no unpredictable moments. I'm not sure why that was. A modern day story from this caliber of writer should have blown me away, but it didn't. The writing is so formal; it read more like a period piece out of place.
There was a bit of excitement with the bear. It broke the story up enough to get a different perspective, but when the bear was out of the picture, the story was more of the same.
The love that is shared between the two main characters is so sweet; it comes across as desperation in some parts. It's almost like they would die if they weren't in each others presence for more than five minutes. Yes, there was a reason they were so attached to each other, and there was just a bit of conflict in the beginning between the two, but after that initial conflict, there was nothing left but sugar.
Love isn't always sugar, and I think that is where I had a problem with this story. With the story being focused on both struggle and attraction, there had to be some conflict that came with the struggle, and there was none.
So, Loss of Innocence is an okay tale, that is lacking a few elements (unusual for John). I personally prefer his historical romance after reading this.

Hmm....

The fourth John K. Sutherland novel that I have read, made me just say, hmm. I said this throughout the book. Why was the question that ran through my head several times. But I later found out why. Did I always like the why? No. I thought that this book could have gone in a different direction with the same ending. Don't get me wrong, it is an entertaining read, but there are some things that I would have done differently.
Multiple characters will keep you on your toes. Three different stories eventually come into one, and it is magical. That I definitely liked.
The grammar and punctuation in this one was great as usual, very few mistakes. I will say that though this is an earlier novel (I am reading another J. K. Sutherland as we speak), the same holds true as with the other three I have read. Main characters tend to talk way too much when they should be holding a conversation with the person, we as readers know, are in the room with them. I still haven’t figured that out.
But I will not hold anyone back from reading this one. Not as good as the other three I read, but still worth reading.
John is amazing.

John Does It Again

Of course I might be a little bias. I love historical fiction. The Caroline takes place just after the Civil War; though through most of the chapters you may forget that if your mind is anything like mine. It just flows naturally, as a story should.
Wyatt is a man who lost his love. Caroline lost her love as well, though the loss is different in each others eyes. For one of them, love lost is possibly recoverable. For the other, love is just a memory.
I am so not going to give up the plot on this one. But I will say, it will drive you nuts. You will keep saying, "OMG! Why?" LOL. You thought I was going to say something, but not!
John has the ability to bring two young people together like no other. The romance in this one and his other story that I have read, The Belvedere, is true storybook, historical romance. I will continue to read this author, because he has a tendency to hold my attention on my long commute to work. I read everyday, so I read quickly (well it is a normal pace to me, but peeps say I read fast).
John Sutherland will say to you that he is not brilliant. I know. I have had this conversation with him. To me, he is brilliant.
Read, The Caroline, to judge for yourself. Do you have an author that you will read anything they write? I did until my favorite author passed away. Slowly but surely, John is taking their place.
There are very few flaws as far as grammar, however, in this one paragraphs tend to be a little long. Easily remedied.
Loved this book as well as the other I read. I will recommend this to anyone who loves period pieces. It will make you smile.

Brilliant!

I loved this story from beginning to end. I don't think I have ever read anything quite like it before. I totally got caught up in Tom's mission. I loved the meticulous details that he went through to find the twins. Then his woman gives him the best idea. I giggled and thought, "yup, just like a woman." I was quite shocked to find out that Tom as careful as he was to keep to himself, he was being watched the whole time. I know the story is about Tom and Sacha finding the twins, but I would have liked to see the relationship between the twins and thier mother.
The paragraphs are way too long. They need to be broken up into smaller paragraphs so it is easier to read. Also I noticed that you started the beginning of a sentence with a number instead of being written out. When number are at the beginning of a sentence, they should always be spelled out. Twelve, and not 12. The ellipsis is three dots, if that was your intention.
Other than that, this is some good stuff here, I can't wait for more!

Hoorah for Alex!

Another winner with Live Again! I picked up this book simply because it was written by Alex. I read her other novel, and loved it as well. This short novel is filled with action, along with deep rooted pain. The scenes are well written and very descriptive.
The main character, Jack, is young and troubled, and because of the way Alex works her magic, you feel every bit of what he is going through. Grammar and punctuation are almost perfect (Very hard to find something wrong).
The only thing I had an issue with this book is it has a sub-genre of romance. Sadly there are one or two chapters where Jack is with his love interest. Not necessarily qualifying this as a romance in my eyes. Perhaps if it was longer, and we got to know more about the love interest, the sub-genre would work. So perhaps I would re-categorize the sub-genre to action and not romance. But other than that, great work once again Alex!

The Hurting Game

Well, first of all, for those looking for dystopian, look somewhere else. The title is close to a familiar series, but no. This story, written by an amazing author, is unique, and extremely engaging.
The beginning of the first chapter will have you wondering, should I continue? The beginning of a story is, most of the time, questionable to the reader. But we press on.
Many have said, "This is not the type of story that I would normally read…" But how in the hell would you know this is not the type of story that you normally read, if you don’t read it? But many have. They, like me, were quite surprised.
The main character of the story is young, going through something he is not aware of until other things happen to him. Then, all hell breaks loose within him. No spoilers!
He reunites with an old acquaintance, and the two of them go on a ride that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Happy, sad, pissed, relived, and everything in between. Those are the emotions you will feel, and not necessarily in that order.
This story is amazing…Oh, I said that already. Seriously it is. There are some things that the trained eye can see grammatically. But they are so far and few between, I should have really kept my mouth shut. But without fail, they are there.
I am going to join the crowd when they say the fight scenes are realistic and visual. They are! When you pick up this book, be prepared to be on the street in the rain, or in an apartment watching TV. You will be transported if you have focus. I don’t remember where the story took place, but I am there. Iziah is young and amazing. A bad ass that does not listen. Reward or not, he is who he is. I loved it.
Okay, so I have opened my mouth enough for now. Read the book. Huge story beyond the first chapter. Give this author a read or two. I promise you will love this.

Good, but not great

The Enforcer. Wow, powerful title. Gets 100k peeps insanely interested. Is that what the author wanted? The fame? This book will keep you engaged. The main character has no clue what she wants. At least that is the way I felt. She constantly fights with herself and her wolf. Cool at first, it sets the tone, but after a while not so much.
Her potential mate is tall, buff, and sexy. Does she want him? It may seem so, but it never comes to pass is fifty-three chapters.
This book has insane potential if the author could just focus on one thing at a time. I mean it could at least be a three book series if the author could just focus. Yes, the story is good but it lacks patience.
The relationship between the main character and her best friend is the most defined in the book, and even then it falls flat at times.
The main character is so stubborn for a woman, it is almost unnatural. What does she really want in her life? In fifty-three chapters, I still have no idea.
Okay, enough said. Romance is one of the genres that this book fell under. I don't get romance from this. What I get is a spoiled rotten, extremely stubborn grown woman who can't get away from her past.
I can see ideas in the author's head that were brilliant; only to be distracted by whatever struck her fancy at the time.
The humor is great and perfectly timed, but still missing the focus that would make those scenes even more powerful.
Basically there are scenes left unfinished in my mind. Does Hill love Hercules? I mean come on. You think she does, after all this time, but she is so busy being a selfish stubborn bitch, you want to slap her.
With all of that said, read the book. Help the author. The story has an insane amount of potential if there was some real focus.

UPDATE:
It seems that the book is now moving in the direction that it should. In my previous comments, I said that there is no way a romance should take this long. Perhaps the author heard me. Things are looking up for Hill and her boo.
