Good, but not my style
Before I write, please keep in mind that I have not been a young adult in a few decades. So, this is not a genre I normally like.
The plot and story overall was fairly interesting. It’s a premise I’ve never heard before. I do highly recommend this story solely for the reason of how unique it is. You won’t find anything else like it. The summary was confusing to know what it’s really about, but it’s a great coming of age story. Toby deals with self confidence, drugs, anger, and many other things. A real coming of age and into his powers. It ends with a huge cliffhanger which is incredibly smart as it’s a series. Keeps the reader coming back to find what is gonna happen next.
Why so little stars? Well, the poor grammar and vague descriptions leave a lot to be desired. The story would be greatly benefitted with the use of something like Grammarly. The incomplete and run-on sentences, tense changes, and misspellings made the book confusing for me to follow. Had to reread several sections just to figure out what was happening. If these don’t bother you, then dive right in and enjoy this one-of-a-kind story.
