A New Spin On Earth...
Overdue is a fun and innovative story. It is put together with creative care and flare. I am a simple reader, so it took me a couple of pages to catch onto the author's style of writing, but I was quickly able to adapt and follow the story line. The characters and their interactions are a hoot! I caught myself laughing and for once... actually ENJOYED reading a story. Sometimes I will start a story, and finish it only because of curiosity. But with Overdue, I found myself actually enjoying the story the character's were telling. Despite the closeness in character names, I actually like it, oddly enough as it sounds.
There are some really long sentences, which make the story a little hard to follow, but besides a few technical mishaps, it is definitely a story worth reading. It is a quick read, so if you are looking for something fun and humorous to read, but won't take you the weekend, then this is your story!
Would I and do I recommend reading Overdue....Most definitely!
Not What You Would Expect...
Overall, once I got past chapter 5, I was enthralled with the story. There is much to be worked on, as discussed in the book club comments. Such as the character development of the main character and some more details that needed to be addressed. There are a few words that either need to be added that were missed, such as 'is' 'in' 'with' and other just small words that would make the sentence complete and not fragmented.
Aside from the small things that can be worked with and edited, the story line was definitely original and makes you rethink your take on angels. I don't want to give too much away. I had a few favorite chapters, chapter 5 being one of them.
There were a couple of twists, which made the story of Alli more intriguing. But all in all, it is definitely a book to pick up and read and fully enjoy.
Great job Lekat!
