About Otso
I've always told stories. It started when I was a child and couldn't sleep. Then I told stories at school, for other kids, mostly horror stories, and gathered a semicircular audience into a corner of the school yard.
As an adult, I tried quitting. I didn't have an audience and just wrote the images and storylines on a million documents on my computer. ( I am still trying to sort all those out.) I really tried to concentrate on the serious university stuff. On the serious adult stuff.
But the inner creative daemon in me didn't release me, and after a break from writing I found myself almost obsessively writing away all my free time.
And so I came here. To see if these darker stories I wrote had an audience. If someone couldn't still find something of themselves in them. If I couldn't again make someone's hackle rise and have the corners of their mouths rise a bit in silent laughter.
If I couldn't reveal to you a corner of what Ann Rice called the "Savage Garden" -- a beautiful starlit world of deep shadows.
My name is Otso Turtiainen. It isn't my real name. Sorry for that. That much courage I didn't have.
I am Finnish. So when I make mistakes, point them out to me with kindness, I beg you. Try learning something about Finnish and you'll understand how much effort I truly put into expressing ideas in this absolutely insane lingua franca.
And one last thing: All images are copyrighted. I am rather good with a drawing tablet and an expert in a software called Krita.
