About Oula M.J. Michaels
Hi, Iβm Oula.
ο»Ώ
Iβve been writing since I was fourteen, which means Iβve spent a truly unreasonable amount of my life creating fictional people, getting attached to them, and then putting them through hell just to see who they are on the other side. Apparently, thatβs my idea of a good time.
I write what I like, which means my stories can include dark romance, sweet and swoony romance, supernatural small towns, historical fiction, psychological thrillers, dragons, motorcycle clubs, fantasy worlds, and a cozy mystery series about two best friends who own a bakery and keep encountering dead bodies.
Psychological thrillers are my happy place as a reader. I usually spot the twist early, so when an author gives me all the clues, sends me in the wrong direction, and still gets one over on me?
I fucking love that.
Iβm somewhere between a plotter and a pantser, but life with a big family, dogs, chickens, an ancient farmhouse, land, and a podcast means I need a road map before I sit down to write.
Outside of writing, Iβm usually gaming, listening to audiobooks, or disappearing into old newspaper archives because one historical detail sent me down a six-hour rabbit hole.
Iβve walked away from writing more than once, but I always came back.
So now Iβm here to stay, writing complicated men, capable women, found family, dark things, sweet things, questionable decisions, the occasional dead body, and whatever else makes me happy.
