Expect the unexpected
This story is mysterious from the very beginning, from the point I, as a reader, met Amanda and got familiar with her strange relationship with Mark, a relationship she herself did not know why it still existed. There was something that kept her close to Mark, even though he was abusive and she had another man, Jason. Given this relationship, when Amanda died, the first person that crossed my mind was Mark. It was really ease to believe at once that he was guilty. However, experience with mysteries has taught me that the most suspicious person is usually never guilty. ;) That is why I made both him and everyone else my suspects while reading, just like the people who were investigating this case. This is a great feature of you as an author, since I was completely taken in by the story. And you did a great job in making all the characters have their own motives for this murder, Stacey, Rita, even Jason. This is what makes the story thrilling and interesting up until the very ending. And I expected it to have an unexpected ending, which it did. The clues that the murderer left were amazingly thought out. It would be not so wise of me to reveal the ending of your story this way, so I will only say one more thing. I guess the devil really is in the detail.
