My Review of Becoming a Man in the Shadowlands
Kudos go to Dennis Randall, author of Becoming a Man in the Shadowlands, a raw and otherwise honest look at and portrayal of his life growing up as a child of a broken family and victim and in its finality survivor of childhood sexual abuse, be it by his family, more importantly his mother, or by his peers (i.e. bullies)and his courage and inner strength and in the end perseverance at being able to put it all behind him by enlisting in the military and throughout his years of meritorious service to our country for which I can only say a silent 'thank you'. As for any and all other aspects of his story, other than having the mental and physical fortitude to bring it to fruition. their were parts that captivated me as well made me cringe and others that were, at times, comical, though mildly so, As for his writing style it was excellent though his grammar, and especially punctuation could use a little work, but other than it was a thoroughly enjoyable read. As for finding the love of his life near the end of it all I can only say congratulations and wish him as well as his children continued success in their individual endeavors. Good show old chap.
