Demonstrates Potentential

The author here crafted an interesting and swiftly paced story. While this manuscript is still clearly a work in progress, the author has crafted the framework of a strong novel. The plot begins in a common enough way,, with a murder and a wrongfully accused protagonist, but quickly takes the reader in an unexpected direction when the identity of the killer is revealed.

The author plays a lot with the theme of wrongful acts begetting further wrongful acts and with each successive wrongful act leading to greater tragedy. While your reviewer was initially tempted to dismiss parts of the book as somewhat cliched, I was pleasantly surprised by the author's choice to take classic elements of a crime novel and give them her own unique spin.

The novel does suffer from some formatting issues and could benefit from some proofreading but the plot is strong enough that these mechanical issues can be ignored.

Worth looking at if you enjoy this genre of novel.
