"This was a very engaging read. I enjoyed the characters, plot, settings and themes. It was good to see the many conflicts within the novel resolved in one way or another. Closure is needed, even when reading.The writer handled several difficult themes (like heartbreak, forbidden love, second chances, power, race ..) with respect and grace. Ending the novel with forgiveness and happiness of a healing family shows there is still hope in humanity. Thank you"
