A Good Read

I saw your posting on the fantasy group and decided to check this out. What I discovered was that our stories share a few similarities, including having the main character be from "our" world and find themselves in another! I don't see that often so that was a fun surprise. I think one of the hardest things about that sort of situation is having the character accept this new reality, and you did a really nice job of having her go through possibilities, like dreaming or even being dead, rather than just immediately assume something fantastical had happened. I also enjoyed your final sardonic line. Keep writing!

Wonderful World Building

This story is only just beginning, but it is amazing how much world building the author has been able to develop in just a few chapters. The writing style is truly beautiful, and makes the reader feel like they are there. The plot moves a little quickly, and might benefit from slowing just a bit, but there's clearly a very interesting story to tell here.

Gritty and Raw

What makes this story really interesting is how relatable it is even if you've never experienced the exact things the narrator does. It's the everyday observations that she makes that make it so intriguing to read. The narrator voices the thoughts people have on ordinary, minor occurrences and interactions, ones that aren't voiced aloud often enough. Doctors suck. Medications suck. Casual dating sucks and people end up being remembered as "the ___ guy". The cynicism is honest and, quite frankly, refreshing. And because it is such a dark, honest story, that makes the small moments of happiness she has or the little joys she finds in things even more rewarding. A quick, very enjoyable read.
