"A complex story with its own society. The background, rules, support characters are as well defined as the main story and characters. The character development is insanely good. The process of abandoning the wrong societal norms through all the dirt, suffering, betrayals is beautiful. It’s an awakening for the love of one person and to cherish this one person. The spice is an added benefit, which steers the story to another level of fantastic. A real gem. ❤️"

"Where do I start?! What an incredibly absorbing story. Riada has created a medieval realm like no other that I have read before. We follow Mika upon her 18th birthday as she is forced to leave her brother's home and fend for herself with no money. This is a world where women have no rights and life is dictated by a ruthless and carnal religion. Where the easiest way to make money is to sell your body. Enter Zeros, a demi-god, who makes a deal with Mika to become his exclusively, until she produces his heir. And so, her incredible journey begins. Though she has a roof over her head and food in her belly, it's most definitely no bed of roses - that bed has many many thorns. She will navigate through cruel rituals, depravation, betrayal, hardship, loyalty, devotion, submission and desire, all whilst attempting to hide her forbidden love for Zeros. This story took hold of me and did not let go until the final chapter. It is dark fantasy, at it's best. There is violence and dark erotica. There is also love. Let go of our world as you know it and enter Mika's harsh and complex world for an enthralling read."
