Unexpected

This story starts with an unexpectedly disliked and immature main character (Serena) and a typical love triangle, but then becomes a beautiful tale of love, maturity, and mental strength as the characters progress through difficult situation. The fantasy element is also a really good one. Gongrats to the author.

Really difficult subject, interesting writing

This story is about a serial killer and his "victim". The theme was one that I enjoyed, being a fan of disturbing, realistic stories. This story shows the darkness that nests in all of us. Definitely not for the squimmish or the faint of heart.
Technically, I would like to comment the following:
I would love a little more description in some parts. I had this feelings that events were taking place pretty quickly (like Celeste's rescue)
More psychological insight of the characters
The text need a second time polishing for minor grammatical errors.

Amazing

This book was amazingly well-written, especially from someone who is still new at writing. The effort put on Lina's world of Weird, and all her paranormal allies like Shioban, Jeri (or even Wilc) and enemies left me speechless. I also loved the fact that there was no unnecessary romance in the story, no damsels in distress or alpha males. All characters all equally strong in their own respective ways. I urge the writer to continue writing, I will only take out one star because at some points the terminology of words used was too special and difficult to understand. I would have loved a sort of a codex for Lina's world and practice instruments before the start of the book.

Speechless

I can't really believe this is a first time attempt from a self-published author, rather than an already recognised one! I finished the book in one sitting, and it left me with goosebumps all over. The relationship between Beth and Silas is just... magical. Their whole journey until their final act and their ultimate (happy) ending is magnificent. I feel like I've travelled along with them. The writing style is exactly what I like to read (and also much like the way I write), and the technical skills are just top notch. Congratulations and 5 stars is the only thing I can give to this masterpiece.
WARNING: The all-5 review is a total personal experience. This book is NOT FOR EVERYONE. It contains difficult sexual and violent themes.. If you can handle them, go for it, all the way.

A nice try, with room for improval

This story has potential, and the characters are all interesting, the heroes brave enough and the villains as evil as it goes. The whole plot is mostly original and the descriptions are beautiful and detailed. My biggest problem is the narrative: sometimes it's just too linear (for example Valeena did this, then did something else etc) and the grammar is too sloppy. Overall, a very nice try, I will read the second book of the series.

Horrifying, in an exciting way

This book is truly horrifying, but its more than accurate depiction of a pandemic's spread. Also in the fact that it makes us readers like and understand the main character Sasha Burns, even though she is a murderous psychopath deprived from feelings since page one. The only negative would be the, sometimes, too quick pace of events, with little detail, but that's just a personal feeling. Otherwise, a really good job.

A crazy ride

This book is categorized as sci-fi, but let me tell you the sci-fi aspect is only the background for deeply psychological study of the human mind. Lance, a nobody who after an alien invasion, has the chance to finally be somebody and the steps he takes along the way, sometimes perfectly good and sometimes atrocious. He is neither a hero or a villain (like he himself says) but he is definitely interesting. The book itself was a page-turner, professionally written. The only negative was that sometimes the writing style and Lance's way of thinking was way too complicated for me to follow. But still, an almost perfect ten out of ten

Gripping story

Erin Swan's Sky Riders:Rising Sun is a compelling fantasy book with a gripping plot. I read this book almost overnight, finding myself unable to pause from reading. Well-fleshed out characters, and very sympathetic trio of protagonists (Eliana, Oriens, Caelum), with just enough good qualities and flaws. A straight-forward plot with just enough twists and turns to keep us interested. My only objection would be the repeat of some themes (Caelum's and Eliana's on and off- relationship, Eliana's doubts and fears) and the quick progress of some events. Still, an amazing ride with this book. I will be reading the second instalment soon.
