Prejudice is a terrible thing
"Beautifully written story of the ugliest part of the human existence. Those who believe they are more important, segregate those they believe unworthy. Art mimicking life. I look forward to reading more from this author. "
Not your typical werewolf story!
"But had all the best parts of one. Great plot, great characters. Looking forward to Book 2!"
Great story!!
"This is a great underdog story, like literally!!! I cheered for her, I booed him and I laughed and hoped for her mostly.. this kept me on my toes and I lived how it's written like the characters are talking to you. "

A page turner and a world i want more of!!
"When i read 39 chapters i gave this review: I am enjoying this book alot. From the first chapter i am hooked with the dilemma/crisis that the MC is facing, and the whole plot is well thought through while the crisis change and evolves. I love that the MC is facing alot of hardships, she is not overpowered, but just a ordinary person trying to survive in a system that is setting her up to fail miserably! It is refreshing. She has a temper but is constantly in a mental wrestle with herself about her position in society. Those two dont mix well in certain company. I also like that the other MC is a arrogant prick, that has a difficult past. I have not read alot of books where i end up being unsure wether i want the two to develop their relationship. There is in general a few typos in every chapter, but it dosent take away from the story. Some of the scenes are better described then others. I think the author is doing a good job and its definitely a pleasure reading. Its a binge read when you pass chapter 15! After finishing the book: I LOVE this story!! There is so much good stuff in this book, and looking into the authors profile its a great forst book! The characters are all different, and even though their whole society norm makes them “the same” Maisie still manages to make them stand out. In my opinion there are details missing that would elevate the story from good to fabulous! The last chapter got to me, because the story to keep growing with all the details we had gotten over the chapters, but i felt like Elli hadn’t evolved to her potential. All in all this is a GREAT STORY! And i cant wait to see if Maisie will pamper us with more stories! Keep at it 🤩🙌🏻"
Chose herself
"I really loved the fresh perspective in this story. It wasn’t the typical damsel-in-distress trope, which made it even more compelling. Even though they ended up together (which I absolutely loved, by the way), she never gave up on her own dreams or identity. That balance made the ending feel earned and powerful. I’d love to see a story centered on Samantha next!"
Werewolf Caste system, slow burn
"For the most part I enjoyed the story, right until it didn't end, We are set for a book 2, yet I have misgivings about continuing. Mostly because I don't think we can reach a satisfactory conclusion unless this is a trilogy. I say that due to the pace of the authors writing and the inherent system in the world that was created for this story. This is a world with a highly enforced caste system. Alpha's are the head of the groups, or packs, then Beta's, Gamma's and at the bottom...Omegas. The Omegas are the worker bees of the system and are generally considered replaceable. It always amuses me that the Shifters worship a female Moon goddess, yet abuse women all the time. This world also has two distinct military organizations, the Obsidian Guard that patrol the area's around the packs and the Blood Moon Guard, made up entirely of women, yet mostly alphas and beta's. They follow a shaman and her apprentice along with a council made of men and women. Omega's have recently been allowed to join the Guard, but are treated as afterthoughts. This is evidenced by the treatment our FMC Eloise is shown during her time training with the Guard. I think of it like the Tuskegee airmen during WW2, allowed to join the air core but not really expected to be of help. The FMC is fleeing from a future in which she would be a whore assigned to the Conference Center of her pack, so the guard...regardless of her hardships...is much preferred. She meets her fated mate early on, who promptly rejects her due to his beliefs in the class system and she reciprocates. A good portion of the book is watching them ignore each other and slowly start to feel the bond forming between them. Given the caste system in place I expected something to happen to force change, yet it became apparent that while that may happen? it wouldn't in book 1. The pace was fairly slow developing and spent a lot of time on minutia...in my opinion. I wasn't expecting a fast paced book given the first 10 chapters, but I did expect something to change before the end, yet it didn't. A large scale attack comes near the end of book 1 that changes many things between the FMC and her mate, just not enough to affect the overall caste system. Her mate, Caleb, changes his mind on her...yet there were events that happened to him that give the impression he was choosing the lesser of two evils, in his mind at least. Hardly a building block for true love, again in my opinion. Book 2 is reported on its way, but with the pace of chapters released by the author, I will likely shelve it for several months and then see where it goes. I will say this though, the pace had better increase in book 2 or my prediction of a trilogy will seem more apt. To the author, I would have appreciated a chapter, or a part of a chapter, dealing with the aftermath of Eloise and Becky after the battle. Becky was her main protagonist during her time in the guard. It would have been enlightening to see if her attitudes towards the Omega had changed. I believe it would have helped the feel of the story overall. "
